Preseason: Week 3 thread

Last one of these before it's the real thing. Not long now lads...

Things I'm excited/hopeful to see more of:

Ravens starting 11
- Has the man of the hour Zay Flowers cracked a full-time role yet?
- Which RB starts... is this Justice Hill thing real?
- OBJ / Bate... would be nice to see them run 1x route for the culture

Eagles:
- Do we get the starters... and if so... Swift? Gainwell? Penny? ........ Sermon???

Lions:
- Wondering if we get to see the Gibbs/D-Mont split preview
- Keen to see how Goff looks targeting those guys + more LaPorta hype

Falcons:
- Keen to see more Bijan/Algeier split
- Keen to see more Ridder, and if he can stop sailing every target high to Pitts/Drake

Vikings:
- Moar Addison plz
- Keen for a little more Ty Chandler, why not

The rookies all look great. We were all a little worried around draft season, and I know it's still only preseason, but the talent is on full display.

Coming away with JSN, Tyjae, Tillman, Dell, and DTR was a nice haul, but it feels like there were only a few misses in the draft.

And to your question about the Ravens backfield, JK is a much better talent than Justin Hill. We've seen them play enough to know that.

And to your question about the Ravens backfield, JK is a much better talent than Justin Hill. We've seen them play enough to know that.

I wouldn't put much stock in the preseason play. Not many first team defenses were playing. Seems that with the reduced preseason schedule teams are really preferring to use the joint practices for the first teamers and preseason for their depth decisions.

The player I think I have fewer concerns with now than I did before is flowers. Excluding bijan, jsn, and the top 3 QBs I still have just as many concerns or more concerns with all others. I do like tune, oconnel, and DTR for QBs that could get nice backup roles and potentially a starting role in the future.

Though it's also possible I'm just more pessimistic

I probably agree that flowers has looked the least concerning. QJ has flashed his athleticism but still struggles with drops.

I feel like the 2nd round of rookie drafts felt like a minefield, but almost all of them have performed as well as possible. Tyjae and Tank B look like quality NFL RB 2s with upside to be 1s to me.

Count me in the "not happening" camp - just no chance this changes solely from Preseason. (It's a mid-season move, if at all)

Further to that - much like Trask/Baker... you don't start with the young guy if they're both equal-ish. It's way easier to go from Baker/Jimmy G to the young guy mid-season, locker-room and organisationally speaking - than it is to go the other way round (and basically start the season by calling your (expensive Jimmy G!) FA QB acquisition a mistake).

LOVE the enthusiasm

I'm stoked to see more Zay Bouquet (now that's a nickname) but also really want to see what that offense looks like with more OBJ and Bateman mixed in. I think if Bateman is 100% healthy we may have some rose colored glasses for Zay (see what I did there too? Only took half a brain cell too to make halfway decent nicknames and puns for this kid).

I'd love more clarity on the HOU receiving core. They will have lots of garbage time this year and for redraft purposes there could be some gems.

Is there any indication of who will fill JT's shoes if he is traded? Feels like it's been all quite in Indiana land. That offense is looking shaky at best if they lose JT.

Does Baker have the starting role? The leash won't be long if he has any at all. What can we even expect from this offense. EDIT: Just read Baker will be starting week one.

I've seen some Ridley hype. Tons of Tank the Tank hype. But what about Kirk and Engram. This is one of the offense that has all the pieces in place but also has plenty of questions, including Ridley's readiness.

Pickens and Pickett both seem to have taken another step but what about Dionte and Feiermuth?

I could keep going but I think those are my big questions still.

If I had to bet money on AO'C starting week 1, I would not do it.
But I am saying therrrrrrrrrrrrres a possibility.
