Received an offer yesterday of Kelce and VanJeff for my 2004 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Dameon Pierce, AT Perry, and Justyn Ross.

While this team needs a TE upgrade with just Henry (and Likely) as of now, the offer seems to be a bit over the top. He traded Ekeler for Kelce and Kareem Hunt just after the May draft and has pretty active with a number of other trades. He also offered me Hollywood and Bateman for my 1st and 2nd earlier in the morning but traded Brown before I could respond.

It would be nice to have Kelce but at 33 he's not a youngster anymore but feel he's worth a 1st and maybe a bit more. I was offered Hock for my 1st a short while ago but agreed with replies to that post here that the pick was more valuable for this team. I'd rather look for another trade partner as we get closer to our end of August required cut down or try to get by with Henry hoping for a Mac Jones rebound.

I'd try to get Pierce or the 2nd removed. Van Jefferson does nothing. Kelce for a 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Pierce is probably acceptable, but a slight overpay given his age and the Pierce hype.

I'll take another look at it and maybe counter. Was trying to hang onto Pierce with the Kamara situation a bit up in the air until sometime late next week at least based on new reports of him meeting shortly with Goodell. Should I reconsider the offer of Hock for just my 1st pick?

I think thats an overpay for Kelce. I would want to hold out Pierce at a minimum.

As a followup to abloom's post earlier, not quite a contender.

I did finish in the 4th playoff spot at 9-5 but I'm still going against two 11-3 teams including a repeat champ which are both loaded with a lot more than I have in my holster. RB's Jones and Kamara are aging with only Walker, Akers, and Pierce as possible younger replacements. My WR's room is even older than that. I'm not sure picking up Kelce will get me closer to the top with my current roster.

The offer has now been "sweetened" to include Zeke and MVS for the same asking price. Compounding all of this is the required drops that have to be made in 30 days. MVS is a probable casualty on one of my other teams so he wouldn't stick here as it is. Zeke as possible value if he hooks on with another team like the Pats but for how much longer?

If Kelce could turn this team around from 9-5 to 11-3, I might counter with just my 1st and 2nd and see if he comes back to me with something else. I honestly feel this team needs more help than just one really good TE to make the jump up. These leagues set the draft order by potential points so even a losing record can wind up getting you a mid round pick based on your best players keeping you close.

I traded this year's 1st and 2nd late last season for Davante, Hop, and Jamaal Williams to reach the playoffs but that left me short on picks for 2023 for our May draft taking a shot on only Sean Tucker and A.T. Perry. I've got a great QB plus three young RB's to start with but feel I may have to trade away Adams, Hop, and Lockett for some younger guns or 2024 picks consider this a rebuild project. Thoughts??

I’m very high on Pierce so I think this is a fairly clear overpay. But he is the single biggest advantage in any one position in fantasy, an overpay for that, even as he’s aging, could be the difference between a championship and a 3rd place finish.

I don't think Kelce gets you over the top and you are going to age and have serious issues quickly. Based on team make up, I would pass

If you were a serious contender, I would consider it. I don't know how your team stacks up against the others. If you can get Pierce out of it, then I wouldn't care if you are a contender or not, you can flip Kelce for more later.

Update - After a lot of thought, I turned down his Kelce offer a couple of days ago figuring this team needs a bit more help than just one top level TE. About half the responses he said go for it and the other felt it was a bit of an overpay to start.

Yesterday he posts his newly approved trade with the 2022 3rd place finisher. He gives up Kelce and Rashad Penny and receives back: Kincaid, Josh Downs, Metchie, and a 2024 1st. More power to him since I think he came out a bit better than my unknown 1st thru 3rd picks plus Dameon Pierce, AT Perry, and Ross.

My decision now is whether to try to move a couple of my older WR assets to contenders for picks or younger players and start thinking about 2024 or do the best with what I have this season and let the chips fall where they may. I can always wait until mid-season and try to move assets then when they might be more valuable and I'll know better who the contenders are. Thx for all of the input.
