James Conner or David Montgomery?

My RB2 in a startup. So far I have JT at RB, and strong WRs and TE

I’m looking to try and contend this year, Conner should have the stronger workhorse role, but Monty has the much better offense we assume.

It likely will not be the popular choice, but I'll take Conner for this season and maybe one more. He was rock solid last year even when the offense lost Kyler. He's just a beast. Both have injury and age concerns but I think Monty will share carries more and I just like Conner's game more.

I actually agree. I am not confident in Montgomery's role and though people may want to just plug him in as a Williams replacement, we are very unlikely to see that reproduced. They invested highly in Gibbs and would rather take the guy I know is carrying the load and not splitting with a top 12 pick.

I completely respect Needalife's answer, i will take the Monte side. better offense and more goal line carry opportunities.

To me Connor is a better player and has less competition. He is boring and all that, but he will outproduce Monty

Montgomery has the longer term hope and potential but Conner is the better piece right now. If I had to look for production, Conner would be my play. Montgomery is pretty underwhelming in fantasy at this point week to week.

i couldnt have less interest in conner and think monty is in a great spot to produce. wouldnt recommend conner over monty for any team any build. theres a 0 percent chance conner is a starting rb in 24. hes a 3m dead cap hit to move on and the team is clearly rebuilding.

I dont think Conner outproduces Montgomery this year. Cards are starting 0-6, bank that. Eight in the box on every play. One high safety to keep an eye on Brown on the games he actually plays and all the rest will be on attack mode, so Conners production the first 6 games should be awful.

Then the petulant one who does not like to watch film "possibly" returns. Cards are tanking, Murray is on the way out. Cards dont want him to screw up their draft pick and he does not want to risk injury for a team that is dumping him, so dont be surprised if he needs additional weeks, with an "s", to get back to full health, further killing Conners production.

Detroit looks to have a pretty good offense and I see no reason why Monty does not come close to Williams goal line opportunities. At least Swift got chances at the goal line. Doubtful Gibbs will. Also Monty can catch the ball where Williams cant.
