Rookie lbs??

Do we know know enough about the rookie lbs to know who’s going to stuff stats? Lbs in my league are pretty much all about tackles. Obviously sacks and tackles for a lose are great but the highest scoring lbs in my league are the ones crushing the tackle category. Who do you like and where in the draft would you want him to be???

No real super stud LB in this class, no Roquan Smith, Devon White type of stud.

Jack Campbell is probably the best of this year's LB class, but was a big reach by the Lions at 18 overall.
Drew Sanders, Trenton Simpson, Daiyan Henley are other top LB prospects in the 2023 class.

Yeah, at 1st glance this draft is POOOOOP for LBs

Add the MFL position changes and LBs value on IDP teams are up up up. There are some teams in my leagues that no longer have enough LBs to meet starting requirements (2 or less left on roster).

Will you be doing your top 10 by position as you have in past years?

I'd like to, but it wouldn't be for awhile yet :(

Yeah, what the heck happened there? We have so many more DEs than we used to across almost all teams in our league

MFL have changed IDP positions so that they better reflect real life. A lot of edge rushers who were designated as LB have been moved to DE. Same goes for a handful of safeties.

This year, with the exception of Jack Campbell, LBs are going late in my rookie drafts. I’m throwing darts at picks like Overshown, Dorian Williams, To’oTo’o, and Pappoe in the 5th and 6th rd. Henley, Sanders and Simpson are getting drafted as early as late 2nd rd to late 3rd.

It seems Campbell is going right after will Anderson in most of my drafts. I get the value there, especially with the change in designation philosophy, and I will probably do it in one draft just to have some piece of him as a lions fan, but at the price and given the way this class falls I am mostly taking late shots at a couple guys like Henley, Simpson, sanders, overshown, Williams, to'o to'o, etc just taking whoever seems to fall a little further there

The problem in the drafts I’ve seen, is that guys like Sanders, Henley, and even D Williams - they’re getting treated by rookie drafters as if they are walking into a starting gig

None of these guys is guaranteed a role. They all are going to murky depth charts, with 3rd round capital. Could become the next Okereke, could become the next Malik Harrison or Derrick Barnes

a
I have not found this to be the case. Most drafts I have been in Campbell goes late 1st to early 2nd, one of them usually goes late 2nd, sometimes 2 go there, and it is usually sanders and Henley though not always, have seen either Simpson or overshown replace either in that spot and it seems the other 3 generally fall, at least to late 3rd with the last usually not going until the late 4th or 5th. Have seen sanders fall as late as late 3rd and all the others fall into the 4th. Williams is the only one I haven't seen go in that early group and is usually around at the end
