2023 Injury Thread

Postby FantasyFreak » Thu Mar 23, 2023 10:52 am

Thought I might as well start this one.

KJ Hamler out 4- months with a torn pec. Don't think it's ever going to happen for this guy, he can't stay healthy.

I wonder if this puts the breaks on shopping Sutton/Jeudy. Seems like they weren't getting any exciting offers anyway.

I wondered this too, but I feel like the majority of their drive to dealing one is that they're going to simply run more in '23, and they are trying to recoup draft capital after the Wilson disaster. Both Sutton and Jeudy still present as players of relative value ie. assets that people might pay for.

There's also Tim Patrick, who, if you believed last seasons OTA's, was the next coming of Jerry Rice.

(Pop quiz: without looking it up, take a guess how old Tim Patrick is... then look it up)

I was guessing early 30s, but then cheated and looked it up. Dude was already old coming into the league.

First TJ Watt falls into his pool, now AJB is nearly taken out by a car. Very lucky.

Hamler was a really fun player in college. Disappointing he hasn't been able to stay on the field as a pro.

x2. I wasn't super high on him as a prospect or anything, but he was always a favorite of mine at his price.

I think this is it and they have to do it. Even if they just go out and suck balls this year. Jeudy will need to be resigned for money. They have to get some players on rookie contracts in the building and rid themselves of the Wilson contract.

I predict that Stidham is gonna be starting at some point this year.

I don’t think there is any plan at this point to rid themselves of the Wilson contract. That they’d move on to Stidham seems very unlikely. Nobody is buying into Wilson right now at that price. If he continues at this level, he’ll bury Denver for years. If he turns it around, they’ll keep him.

Oh, I don't think other teams will be buying Wilson from them for draft capital. I just meant because of the Wilson deal, they need draft capital, and will have to look to deal Sutton/Jeudy or both. Ridding themselves of Wilson is just going to have to come through cap shenanigans or a cut.

I stand by my Stidham comment.

Wilson will definitely be on a short leash. Sean Payton is a no nonsense coach.

Stidham definitely has a shot if Wilson doesn’t rebound but my guess is Wilson plays much better under Payton’s offense.

Will be interesting to see.
