Dynasty Trade Comparisons

Postby Anteaters » Sat Nov 12, 2022 9:09 am

Each pair of choices in this poll go together. 1 goes with 2, so choose ONLY 1 or 2. 3 goes with 4, so choose ONLY 3 or 4. And so on. If you do this correct, you should end up with five choices.

For instance, 1 says "E Moore is worth more than Boyd" and 2 says "Boyd is worth more than E Moore". You should choose one of those two, then move on to the decision in 3-4, then move on to the decision in 5-6, and so on.

Don't overthink too much about whether one team is in a full rebuild and the other is a Top2 contender. Assume all teams are deciding from a base that they are in the 4-7 range in their leagues.

Straight up PPR value in a 12-team dynasty draft league. No TEP. No 2QB. No auction/salary concerns. You can decide if you're looking at a now-2yr window or a 1-6yr window.

Worth More

Rereading that, it made me think I phrased it wrong. What I really meant was one player would be a better fantasy asset than the other guy. Maybe just a subtle difference, but I didn't want to have people thinking about flip-value. I wanted to get the opinion of which you would rather have/keep on your roster for the next X amount of time.

To me at least, Lamar is what you pray Fields becomes. So that's not close. Same goes for Herbert vs Jacobs. One has been a RB1 for years and the other is a good handcuff

Andrews > Pitts unless you're in a serious rebuild

E Moore > Boyd. We've seen some good flashes from Moore and I'm more confident in his upside than a guy who's a WR3 on his own team (albeit a good one). Doghouse pending

Wilson vs DK is interesting to me. Kind of a toss up or pick your preference here. As prospects, I'd have rated Wilson higher.

The big two for me are Jackson and Andrews should be worth much more than Fields and Pitts.

The Herbert/Jacobs comp is almost like the EMoore/Boyd comp to me, except Jacobs has been a higher-rated RB than Boyd has been a higher-rated WR. But the comps are similar to me because in both cases we have younger players who have flashed a little talent compared to in-their-prime older players who have consistently had very good seasons.

Though I would prefer Jacobs/Boyd over the youngsters almost every time, I don't think it's a "wrong" choice for someone else to go with the youngsters. It's just that I think there's a lot of risk/hope in choosing inconsistent/unproven young talent over proven veteran production.

The DKM/Wilson comp is like that but with a better veteran against a better youngster.

The voting results are interesting.

For my teams I would prefer Jackson and Andrews. But I was surprised to see the voting turn out to be a clean sweep for both so far. Especially Pitts getting zero votes. I wonder if people are souring on Pitts from a year ago, or if the voters so far are all people who would have chosen Andrews over Pitts 16 months ago?

Moore v Boyd was the toughest. With Boyd the #3 WR and little chance of that changing, went with the youth that's flashed.
League #1- 14 tm ppr, 1Q, 2R, 3W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1K
1 DT, 2 DE, 2 LB, 1 CB, 1 S, 1 flex

League #2- 12 team PPR, 1Q, 1R, 2W, 1T, 1 R/W/T, 1 W/R/T, 1 Def

League #3- 12 tm PPR, 1Q, 0R (yes, ZERO RB) 3W, 1T, 2 R/W/T flex, 1 Def

I went all vets. I want the proven production over the bet that the younger ones will get to that level.

Not so surprising after Sunday's big day, Fields finally got one vote as being a better fantasy option than Lamar.

Also, even with another poor game in week 10, Pitts got his first vote as well.

Yup. The Moore/Boyd comparison really made me pause and it truly would come down to “league dynamics and team trajectory. DK vs Wilson also made me think for a couple ticks, but ultimately I would never take Wilson over DK if I were doing a startup today.

The others are laughable comparisons IMO.
