Wondering what you would offer for Rashaad Penny in a 12 man sf.

The most I would offer is a 2nd. Kenny Walker is gonna take over eventually. A lot of Penny owners will probably value him more than a second right now just because he'll be RB1 in Seattle for at least the first couple weeks.

Looks like you don't have a late 2022 2nd so it'd be worth shipping that 2023 2nd. I think the better question is why Penny? Not a bad option it looks like for 2022, but why not look for someone with even more potential long-term upside if you are trading future picks?

As a Penny owner I can say that I am not trading him for a 2023 2nd, but I imagine many other owners would. As a Penny a truther I believe he is good enough to hold down the lead job all year and be an RB1 while he does it. Next year he probably walks since they have Walker but he is good enough start somewhere else for the next few years.

Seems like he'll be the starter outta the gates given his experience in that offense which should help hold things down while Lock & Geno figure it out. And if he plays like he ended last year it's tough to argue that! Walker is gonna get some shots tho too that's for sure.

I just traded Penny to a Walker owner for Rachaad White and Jelani Woods in a 2QB, PPR, TE Premium, IDP league.

Until we see how he plays out this year, I am guessing any manager is going to want a 1st fair or not. It's a risky and pricey time to try and acquire Penny, especially with Carson out of the picture.

Definitely seems like a buy/sell high moment for Penny right now

I did not get offered Penny but there is a serious rebuilder that has him and would prob trade for a fair price.

Who dis you have in mind that would be better for a late 2nd?

I mean. I'm looking at your team & it seems pretty solid for the format. If you are feeling Penny & can get him cheap go for it. Definitely would help your RB depth.

Seems like you have a lot of back end depth with high upside at WR. So if there are other cheap RBs you can get, I would just compare them with your outlook on Penny.

As a Penny owner myself I’ll just hold and see how things play out… He could Start somewhere next as well so I’d rather gamble on Penny then get a 2nd but I realize that asking for a 1st is ridiculous

He's thinking about acquiring Penny. So I'd say that's an endorsement right there haha.

The same exact coaching staff and front office put more draft capital into Penny than Walker. They value the RB position more than almost any other front office. They had to know of Carson's potential retirement and - because they value using draft capital on the position as much as they do - hedged their bets by selecting Walker.

But it is foolish to just assume that Walker will be the guy in that offense. Penny was magnificent at the end of the year. If he plays that well early on then you can foresee a lot of miserable Walker owners. Don't believe me - ask all the Penny owners how they felt for the first 2+ years after drafting him and Carson held the job over him.

And if Penny goes away in a year or two in free agency - you can bet with certainty that this front office will just select another RB in the first two rounds to muddle that future situation as well. I'd much rather gamble on Penny at his reduced cost that waste an early first on Walker.

There's no way I would sell Penny for a second. The odds of a second round RB getting the opportunity in the future that Penny has right now is very slim. Rookie fever season is over, folks. Time to bet on actual stats and production.

In 1qb I could see early 2nd. I’d rather have the list of guys above over Penny.
