Aaron rodgers value and predictions
Whats his value right now? Personally I have a feeling he will retire after this season. Does anyone have any information that suggests otherwise? I'm trying to flip him in my SF for younger assets/picks. So far a guy who said he's interested rejected carr and a 2024 1st for rodgers. I have now asked for tua and a 2024 1st and a 2nd rd pick swap in 2023. I'm not really a Tua fan but I just have that feeling in my gut rodgers isnt long for the NFL and I want to recoup something. Thoughts?
Re: Aaron rodgers value and predictions
Imo your wayyyy overvalueing rodgers
For me carr is ahead of him in dynasty and tua is a bit behind him but nowhere close to a first. Id say anything with carr is fair and id do a 2nd with tua for rodgers

That's fair and certainly may be true. I'm assuming your reasoning is based purely on age? Carr has never ever never ever ever been a QB1 and rodgers has like a hundred times

His extension is for 3 years, so I'm kinda thinking he plays that out Big Ben-style. That said, I can definitely see him leaving at any moment.

“I think about it all the time,” Rodgers said following Wednesday night’s vanity TV golf event. “When you commit, you’re 100 percent,” Rodgers said. “But the older you get, the interests change, and the grind, I think, wears on you a little more. . . . The football part is the easy part. That’s the joy. It’s the other stuff that wears on you and makes you think about life after football. Tommy obviously set the bar so high with playing so many years, but I can definitely see the end coming.”
The people projecting Christian Watson to be a thing "in two or three years" need to be tempering their expectations a bit, imo. I agree with Ninja - this guy seems fit to retire at any moment.
Re: Aaron rodgers value and predictions
I dont think carr is going to be a qb1 this year but i also dont think rodgers will be either with the shape of the offense. I think there both very high qb2s this year toss in the ages and that makes me lean carrgrandmabetty wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 3:44 pmThat's fair and certainly may be true. Makes sense. What are your thoughts on whether he hangs up his cleats or plays on for a few more years?Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 4:25 pmI dont think carr is going to be a qb1 this year but i also dont think rodgers will be either with the shape of the offense. Rodgers Just won back to back MVPs and is owed $150 million over the next three years. I don’t think he’s going anywhere and I think he will be a top 10 QB at least for the next two years.
Re: Aaron rodgers value and predictions
Id say hes probably got 2 left on average, could be one, could be 3 but two seems about average.grandmabetty wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 5:00 pmMakes sense. Most elite qbs just hit "a wall" for lack of a better term in there age 37-40 range. Theyll literally go from looking like there prime form to barely getting by and retiring almost overnight

Re: Aaron rodgers value and predictions
Not to derail this - given it is an Aaron Rodgers post - but there are a lot of people on this forum who think Carr will be a back-end QB1 this year. He finally has a receiver and was QB13ish last year… so it isn’t unlikely that he moves up a few spots.Mjvb5 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 4:25 pmI dont think carr is going to be a qb1 this year but i also dont think rodgers will be either with the shape of the offense. Re: Aaron rodgers value and predictions
I could see Rodgers moving from 5 to 10. Stafford, Burrows, Dak, Murray, and Hurts moving ahead slightly just from either getting new weapons or getting healthier.Shcritters wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 8:46 pm Not to derail this - given it is an Aaron Rodgers post - but there are a lot of people on this forum who think Carr will be a back-end QB1 this year. And Carr moving up a few spots from Adams.

Re: Aaron rodgers value and predictions
I'd personally take Carr over Hurts in Dynasty (in a vacuum). I think he's a much safer play, but that's just me. I don't have Hurts anywhere near the top 10, though. I also, only play Superflex. In a 1 QB, I might take a swing on Hurts, but not in a SF format.Straycatz2 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 9:49 pmI could see Rodgers moving from 5 to 10. I question if there's a dropoff without Adams, but I think he'll still be a QB1 and plays the next 2-3 years.
I do wonder if a network will try to lure him into the studio or booth with a deal similar to Brady's.

FWIW, ESPN fantasy analysts just announced its annual lists of sleepers and busts, and the nearly 2/3 nominated QB was Rodgers.
