Somewhat early 2024 Draft thread

Reception Perception has started its 2024 rookie assessments and Harmon has evaluated the top 3 WRs in the draft already.

He has MHJ and Odunze as two of the best 3 prospects he’s charted since 2021 and has them up with Chase. He’s still trying to figure which of the 3 he thinks is the best.

Nabers is behind them and needs route running refinement but he still projects elite prospects for him if he improves.

That’s all I’ll disclose since it’s behind a pay wall.

Thanks. Yeah, been following him. Wish I had a shot at Odunze. The only place I do is with the 1.06 in my Superflex and if I get Williams at 1.01 and Bowers is gone, I'm taking him at 1.06. That's my only chance at him. Love MHJ, obviously.

Is it just me or are playerprofiler college dominator numbers low for many in this class. Is anyone able to verify if they’re up to date or correct? I noticed it first with the rbs but also with the WRs. For example, Odunze put up big numbers and yet his college dominator is below average. I understand it’s a share of the team totals, so if the team had a prolific offense, any one player could put up big numbers and their dominator wouldn’t be that high. But still, idk. Something feels off.

Edit: playerprofiler has his at 26% and another article I’m reading says it’s 33%. This is confusing.

Edit edit: hmm ok, I read elsewhere his career dominator rating is 26%. So maybe playerprofiler is using career dominator ratings now? Typically playerprofiler uses the last collegiate year as their number. Man, I really hope playerprofiler didn’t get lazy on this. That would be highly annoying.

If anyone has a list of dominator ratings for all the skill positions (RB, WR, TE) that would be super helpful.

There's no way Harrison falls to 1.09, LOL, but always nice to dream. I'd be very happy with Odunze there though.

And is that what you're saying about him? I'm just thinking fourth round flier. He's going unddrafted.

The speed is real. Saw plenty of him at Wisconsin but he never got enough work buried behind Taylor and then Allen. When he came in there wasn’t much of a dropoff in the O. 6’-0” and 220 lbs, he’s a power back and unfortunately he doesn’t create much for himself, because if he had some shake to go with that size and speed he’d be one of the top, if not the top, RBs in this draft. Solid footwork, solid balance, runs with good pad height and lean. If he gets down hill no one will track him down from behind.

Like Allen, before last year he did not run decisively often enough and I think he got tagged as not having burst because of it. Like Allen, he ran with much better commitment and decisiveness last season and looked much better doing it. He’s a good (not great) receiver out of the backfield and he’s a good pass protector, so he has a 3 down skill set. He’s going to be 24 at the start of his rookie season, but with his diminished college workload he has plenty of tread on the tires.

He could be this year’s Pacheco - he’ll be more of a hammer early on, but with his size and athleticism if he learns a bit more in refining his game he could be a real surprise as his career moves forward.
