The Patriots have more of a history with trading back in the draft than spending an early pick on a QB. Robert Kraft has selected only one QB in the 1st round since he has owned the team and that was at pick 15. They very well could be checking out what their options might be if they decided to go that route.

Yeah, hard to read anything into that. They had Bledsoe drafted the year before he bought the team. He was pretty much considered a franchise QB until they happened into Tom Brady.

Mac Jones was potentially the first draft you could argue it made sense to draft one in the first round under Kraft ownership.

Doesn’t mean they won’t trade back, but I don’t think history has anything to do with this one.

JJ McCarthy 3rd overall is the obvious smoke we're playing with here
I was aware of the narrative being sought ought, just not sure it is related at all. They need talent at more than just the QB position.

While what you said is 100% true, if you get your franchise QB then you’ve got the centerpiece of your team for the next decade and a half to build the rest of the team around.

If Drake Maye goes 1.02, there sounds to be a legitimate chance that the Patriots value JJM over Daniels - just based on some of the beat reporters I've been listening to.

It would also be "very Boston" for obvious reasons

Because of the Wolverine & winning championship pedigree connection ???

McCarthy also has the wholesome Tom Bradyish looks but may be too good of an athlete to be a good comp to TB12 . Certainly won’t be a 6th rd pick

sorry for the spam, but if someone wants a draft-related challenge, there are openings in the DLF early bird special league: we draft rookies before the nfl does! (suckers!)

(16 teams SF, ppr, free aside for the MLF fee of about 5 dollahs each, let me know if interested!)

Reception Perception has started its 2024 rookie assessments and Harmon has evaluated the top 3 WRs in the draft already.

He has MHJ and Odunze as two of the best 3 prospects he’s charted since 2021 and has them up with Chase. He’s still trying to figure which of the 3 he thinks is the best.

Nabers is behind them and needs route running refinement but he still projects elite prospects for him if he improves.

That’s all I’ll disclose since it’s behind a pay wall.

I have heard of this and bought one of his versions, but haven't since. Has he done a good job of evaluating the WRs both the studs and longer shots? Essentially, does he have a good track record?

Was just reading these as well. Man does he gush about Odunze. Gut feeling just reading the articles it ends up being him at the top.

I don’t claim to be a film guy, so a lot of my perception comes from others like this. He’s had misses like everyone else, but I think he tends to do a pretty good job.

Agreed. Harmon is well respected, has good process and detailed analysis. Good mix of film and data. I don't think there's a better WR analyst in the fantasy community. He's had misses, but who hasn't?

Definitely should make the people with 1.03 in 1QB leagues excited.
