Theilen Value

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Theilen Value

Postby Funr1de » Tue Mar 22, 2022 9:58 pm

12 team dynasty 1ppr Superflex

Would you trade Theilen for an early third?

I’ve been trying to move him for a year now with no luck. I’m likely not a contender this year. I’d prefer a dart toss in the 3rd than get stuck cutting him in the future. This league is very age sensitive when it comes to trading.

This has also turned into one of those teams where I’m just rosterbating.

Theilen, Boyd, Van Jefferson, Meyers, Edwards, Palmer are all clogging the roster up.

Other receivers: Mclaurin, Sutton, Locket, M Brown.

Packaging these older guys + a 3rd/4th to move into the 2nd or for a player that is 2 years younger has been a way I've done it to "disguise" their age. It works on some managers.

Would try that before settling on a late pick. Haven't hit a thing in the 3rd lately so I'd much rather try to squeeze value in a deal somehow.

I would hold and hope a better option comes up in season. I understand why an aging asset like Thielen does not bring in any interest in the offseason. Teams are usually trying to get younger or land hot names in the offseason. Once fantasy kicks off again and Thielen is putting up numbers, I think a better offer comes then a 3rd. I don't think you will get anything great but better than this. Keep holding!

Now is about the worse time to move an aging vet coming off an injury. Best to wait till the season begins and hope he starts balling out again and rookie fever subsides. Then look to move him for a rookie that starts off slow or to an owner that suffered an injury. Good luck.
