After that, I think he’s jumped up into a tier with McCaffrey, Mixon, and Hunt.

In PPR, I can see a #2 ranking similarly to McCaffrey, since the Bengals look a mess in the short term.

Hunt has a few big games early, but he was grossly overvalued as a later day 2 pick getting close to round 1 start-up status.

Kamara should be locked in this role for at least 2 more years as I think this season bought Payton and Brees some extra years. He just looks so effortless out there. Yes, the offensive line is great, but he’s making a lot of plays and who knows if they move on from Ingram and make him the 1A next year.

Gun to my head, I’d rather have Kamara over Hunt. It’s close with McCaffrey and Mixon though.
Not sure what CMC has done to deserve staying in tier 2 (or tier 1B). At this point he's Pierre Thomas... yuck

You switch landing spots and things could change. Carolina has one of the worst run blocking line and New Orleans has one of the best. They both catch a ton of balls, pretty similar players in my eyes.

He might be having the best season of any 2017 RB, but I would not bet on him being the best RB long-term.

Too soon, but it's possible.

His coach thinks so...Payton was quoted somewhere as saying something like "the only thing preventing Kamara from being ROY is me."

He is a legit talent, and I am thrilled to have him in a few leagues. That said, this year feels kinda like Tevin Coleman 2016 on (figurative) steroids. It is hard to imagine his efficiency staying as high as it is, although nothing about his situation should change over the next couple years.
I would still take Fournette over him, and if not competing I would probably still take Cook. Hunt/Mixon would be close, but in PPR give me Kamara over them.

That's a very good comp. Probably a better talent than Coleman, but Kamara is an RB1 on what, like a dozen touches per game?

looks like about 9 carries and 5.4 rec/6.3 targets per game since they benched AP (week 4). So yeah, not too many. To be fair, that is still better than decent opportunity (even in standard, a target is worth more than a carry for a RB if you look at per target points vs. per carry points). Plus he is the overall RB2 in PPR over that span, so he has plenty of room for his efficiency to drop while still keeping him in the top 12 range.
I'd still consider him a top 12 RB as long as Payton and Brees are there, but I don't see his 21+ PPG pace continuing that whole time. I am sure enjoying this magical run while it lasts, though. :D

Ranking him behind Fournette, Cook, Mixon, McCaffrey among RBs is not egregious. Players can go on hot streaks and inflate their value. Pretty sure we had very similar posts about Hunt a month into the season.

Dude is good but I don't see any issues with the other RBs ranked higher. Drafting is still based on value/upside and I seriously doubt you would've taken Kamara 1.01.

I don't think he's the best of the rookie class. He's a player with a specific skill set that is being used properly by a coaching staff that puts him in situations to succeed. I still think Fournette is at the top (though the ankle issues are concerning). I'd also have Dalvin very near the top as well.

We haven't seen him in some time, but he was absolutely tearing it up in Minnesota in the running and passing game. If he comes back well from injury we'll be reminded of that in 2018. Kamara is a good RB, and people who took a shot on him are being rewarded. But he's not the best RB in the class IMO.

I think people might look back on this RB class like people look at the '14 WR class. Rankings are so fluid right now. We should just appreciate that so many kids are "hitting" at a position that was getting thin, real quick.

I think he has definitely moved ahead of mixon. But still have LF, hunt ahead of him and even with CMC. Thankfully I have 3 of them #bragpost

He’s definitely lighting it up right now. I would still take Fournette, Hunt, and Cook over him, but he would be number 4 out of the RB's.
Personally I don’t even think he’s the best RB on his team
