It's not hype because of a single play, it's an evolving and consistent trend that players, coaches, and writers align on.
It is the first week of camp, it is hype
Moore has been getting praises back to offseason programs and OTAs. This isn't the first we're hearing about it or seeing it.

Maybe for others it is though.

I, like you, understand eyerolls at a single play, against air, and the Twitter verse (Xverse?) acting like someone is a HOFer.

But as we have said for a while now this is a TREND. I laid it out from the Browns point of view in this thread before, so I don’t feel like doing it again. But acting like every single item is a one off is just laughable at this point.

Will be interesting to see if Moore is out there is base sets, or if it's DPJ with Coop. Browns haven't run a lot of 11 personnel compared to other teams, recently, maybe they change that. Is Moore going to be the slot in 11, more often than not? Curious how he's deployed, because Coop is obviously going to be the top WR, when healthy, but it should be interesting in 2 WR sets if they go with the bigger bodied guy in DPJ, who may provide more as a blocker for runs, and who quietly had a pretty good year last year. I'm generally curious if there's any major shifts in scheme this year, with the same offensive HC in place.

Probably too much but he has had a wild career...

Good WR prospect with solid production despite playing with DK and AJB. Solid athlete.(I had him 5th in that class behind the obvious Chase, Waddle, Bateman, Smith).

2021 he has a slow start, demands trade, then puts up 28/392/5 in his last 5 games before going on IR.

2022 was just a mess of a year between the drama and the offense as a whole

2023 traded to new team who seems to have him motivated again and wants to pass more. Probably a huge chip on his shoulder...

I'm not saying I'm sold that he's a consistent WR2/3 for fantasy, but he still has a shot at a good career. Big year for him this year to see who the real Elijah Moore is

What kind of value are you placing on Moore? Are you paying a mid 2nd? Josh Downs? Or later picks like early 3rds?

Even his fan club seems to think he is a wr2 on his own team so is that really ever going to be worth more than say a mid 3rd in a SF? I’d rather have Mingo, Rice, Roschon, Tank, Musgrave/Mayer/Laporta over him. So looking at maybe Downs/Spears/Jayden Reed/Michael Wilson range?
TEAM 1 - 12 man SF. ppr, TEP 1.65 ppr

11 starters - QB, RB(2) WR(3) TE, SF, Flex(3)

Stroud, Kyler, Bryce Young, Anthony Richardson, Minshew, Trey Lance, Dalton l, Mike White

Breece, Achane, AJ Dillon, Justice Hill, Evan Hull, Chris Rodgriquez

Chase, Lamb, Waddle, Olave, London Drake, Demario Davis, Jake Bobo

Kyle Pitts, Mark Andrews, Kincaid, Schoonmaker

24 picks - 1x2, 3,4,5

Team 2-
12 man SF, .25ppc, .5ppr rbs, 1 ppr wr, 1.5 ppr TE

Joe Burrow, Trevor Lawerence, Jake Haehner, Jake Browning

JT, Kendre Miller,, K Ingram, Ty Chandler, Michael Carter, Kenny Macintosh, Sean Tucker

Puka, Rondale, Mooney, Wan’dale, Terrace Marshall, DPJ, Justyn Ross, Xavier Hutchinson,

Kyle Pitts, Luke Musgrave, Juwan Johnson, Darnell Washington, Jelani Woods, Elijah Higgins

24 - 1st x 3, 2nd x 2, 4th x 3 ,5

Mid 2nd sounds like a price I'd consider, and I'm not even his biggest fan.

He's a better prospect than most of those WR you listed except Mingo maybe. I'd put him in that tier with Mingo/Mims/Reed so arpund mid/late 2nd. Personally have Rice after them. Depending on team I can see taking Roschon or Tank and maybe Laporta. The rest are a bit behind Moore to me though. He may be his teams WR2 but most of these rookies have a ways to go to be their teams WR2 and I don't see WR1 for any of them besides the outside shot for Mingo

I paid a projected 2024 late 2nd in a 16 team SF IDP last week. Felt that was in the range of where Downes went in this years draft and I like Moore above him as a prospect. I still believe he has ability that is equal or better than the Mingo/Reed/Downes/Mims, etc. if you can get him at the lower than that value given his rocky 2023, I think that’s a win.

He’s not without risk, but he’s a good player with lots of ability. His issue has mostly been off field. Not sure he’s at risk of suspension type of risk though, so I like rolling the dice on him. Perhaps have overexposed my ownership this off-season, but he’s a player worth rolling it on given where the cost has been.

I think it depends on which supporter you are talking about. I see WR2 on his own team as a given, with the potential for much more. His type of talent combined with a resurgent (hopefully) Watson could be very explosive. Cooper could easily be a cap casualty next year. I think largely how high Moore scores for us depends greatly on the Browns moving to more of a passing team. Chubb will start falling off shortly (age projection), but I certainly wouldn't bet against him being a Frank Gore tbh.

I could see someone favoring Mingo or Rice as just a resetting notion. I'd want Moore over the rest of that list though.

Browns top beat writer saying the Watson/Moore connection is legitimate and Moore has been "really, really good".

I’d bet on Moore. Top 15 numbers? More than likely not. Could he be a top 30 guy for a few years? Absolutely. I’m thinking something like Jarvis Landry.

Addionally, I saw clips of OBJ working out with Flowers, Dotson and Moore recently. Always good seeing a vet showing younger players the way, particularly since they’re all “shorter”.

#Browns OC Alex Van Pelt said WR Elijah Moore's ability to carry the ball and run great routes out of the backfield are just some of the things that make him so versatile.

My thoughts exactly. Its actually somewhat entertaining to watch the mental gymnastics the detractors have been performing in this thread.
