***RUMOR*** Manning out for the year

The latest on Colts QB Peyton Manning. Jake Query, a radio host on WNDE in

Indianapolis is reporting that sources are telling him that Peyton Manning

is out for the year. Query posted this on his twitter feed today:



"What I (Query) said: A source I consider reliable told me he is out for the

season. I do believe that the actual diagnosis is still being determined"



Query then followed that with: "I (Query) was also told the 3rd procedure has

taken place, either Sun or Monday."



Understand that this is not official by any stretch. This is a radio host in

Indianapolis (that I don't know much about) saying this is what his sources

are telling him.



It certainly fits with the worse case scenarios we've been envisioning but it

should be stressed that we have no facts or words from the Colts to back this up.

It's also worth noting that the Colts and Bill Polian are going to be the absolute

last people on earth to tell us this.



My gut feel is that I'd positively let someone else take the chance on Manning at

just about any price right now. I know some are saying now is the time to scoop

him up for pennies. I'm not one of those guys.



This is perhaps not related in any way shape or form, but I think it's worth

understanding that Peyton's older brother, Cooper, quit football after it was

discovered he had a congenital spine issue. I'm NOT saying Peyton has the same

issue. But I am saying Cooper's issue is something he thinks about as he plans

his future. It would be impossible for it not to be considered for him.

I read that also. It is not only a loss for the fans and team, but we need to remember what a proud player Manning is. It is an even bigger loss for him, his team, and football in general. A true warrior and inspiration suffering an injury like this is a loss that we need to respect and keep in perspective. Good luck Mr. Manning and God speed.

While Manning COULD be out for the year or COULD be having another surgery, nothing is known yet. JMV and Query out of Indy are simply promoting themselves by citing "inside source" or "reliable source" that Manning has had another surgery or is done. Lies plain and simple. With all the speculation going around it is easy for them to say a reliable/inside source told them something just so it will go national and thus promote themselves.

Bad news for one of the NFL's good guys...Now that we know he is out for a minimum of 2 months, can we stop talking about it! ESPN is the worst and they have made this the next 'Brett Favre' case...Just bugs the crap out of me after 3 weeks of the same stuff!

Seems that Manning has a 28 million buyout clause in year 2 of his new contract. While I don't think the Colts will use it...It's something to think about. Just imagining Manning in something other than a Colts uniform feels wrong.
