MCL/PCL injury confirmed.

Was a theory a lot of us had throwing around, that there was additional damage in that MCL surgery that was unreported.
Kyle Pitts said he suffered a PCL injury in addition to a torn MCL during the 2022 season.

Pitts made a post about his recovery on his Instagram and included the fact that he had surgery on both his PCL and MCL. Before now, it was only known that he suffered a torn MCL. Though there are plenty of reasons for his quiet 2023 season, a previously unknown PCL injury almost certainly played a part. Pitts looked slower this year and often appeared to be lacking strong lateral burst. Given how much elite athleticism factors into his game, the combo of knee injuries was a notable blow to his production. He finished the year with 53 catches for 667 yards and three scores. Pitts will look to get his career back on track with a new head coach and likely a new quarterback in 2024.
Hopefully he gets some of that burst back this off-season, along with a nice shiny new QB, OC, and HC.

After their 1st 3 years

Pitts - 2049 Yards (149 receptions, 259 targets)
Ertz - 2024 Yards (169 receptions, 258 targets)
Kelce - 1737 Yards (138 receptions, 190 targets)
That's slightly misleading, Kelce missed his entire rookie year.
Of which most people (on a dynasty football forum) should be aware, or capable of doing their own research. 8-) ...
Cumulative stats going all the way back to 1-1-16:

Jameson Williams 25 receptions for 395 and 3.
Calvin Johnson 10 receptions for 137 and 1.

What was the cost to acquire? I've been poking around, but not sure how much to offer to get a deal done while not overpaying...

Someone offered me a mid/late 25 1st and I declined in my 2PPR TE Prem league. Maybe I’ll regret it, but with Jonnu released, him 2nd year recovered from MCL/PCL, and new OC/HC this is his best chance in a while.

Wasted how, and for who?

2021 draft, KTC values as of 3/2024;

1. Chase
2. Amon
3. Lawerence
4. Waddle
5. DeVonta
6. Fields
7. ETN
8. Pitts
9. Javonte
10. Stevenson
11. Freiermouth
12. Najee

No one had Amon as a 1st and ETN was polarizing due to his injury. That puts Pitts as the 6th/7th best value of the 2021 draft 3 years later. And he is close in value to a few ahead of him.

His value in 2021 about 1.08 or better.

Javonte was a much bigger waste of a 1st than Pitts...and he is a precious RB whom you are suppose to draft with 1st.
And the drafters of Trevor Sermon or Trey Lance are not that thrilled ..

A lot folks ended up taking Pitts over Chase though, I landed Chase in one league at 5 and couldn't believe it...

I was big on Pitts, took him in a few leagues, but no earlier than 1.05 and certainly way after Chase. I would have taken Chase for sure.

Catching up on the NFL news after being off The Grid for a couple weeks. Wasn't excited to read this (even though it's coach-speak).

Falcons | Kyle Pitts to be used as blocker more Wed Feb 21, 09:18 AM

"Atlanta Falcons TE Kyle Pitts is expected to be used as a blocker more by the new coaching staff. 'We're not oblivious (to what he brings) from a receiving standpoint, so there are a lot of things that you can do to be creative and use his skill set in the pass game,' tight ends coach Kevin Koger said. 'But with him and the way we're going to run the ball and the athleticism he does have, there are a lot of things he can do in the run game to help us out to win football games. You'll see him all over the field, not just out wide but also in the box.'"

Edit: Thinking about this a little more, it might not affect his routes run or targets too much. Might just increase his overall snap count. We'll see.

Agree, I don't really see it as a bad thing. They don't mean they are turning him into Parker Hess and pass blocking 50% of the time, just that they are going to move him around more on a wider variety of packages, especially running plays. It's likely they intend to increase his snap share overall.
