After finalizing a 3-year, $22.5m deal with WR Kendrick Bourne, a look at Patriots personnel at the position:

Julian Edelman
Nelson Agholor
Kendrick Bourne
Jakobi Meyers
N’Keal Harry
Gunner Olszewski
Marqise Lee
Devin Smith
Kristian Wilkerson
Isaiah Zuber

Ever feel like Belichick is out smarting himself here?

Suddenly the shine is off my shares of Jakobi. Looks pretty cluttered.

I traded my only share this off season. I seriously don’t know why he hasn’t been on the field more.

They have been consistently clueless at WRs.

The Patriots offensive depth chart is starting to like like a steaming pile of "meh" across the board.

Holding Meyers as no one on that list stands out as being any better. Meyers isn’t overly sexy, but he’s a WR that QBs can trust not only to be where he’s supposed to be and understand down/distance but also to bail them out on less than accurate throws. He’s a former QB whose growth curve should continue to be on the rise, so he looks like quality depth at FF WR at a minimum.

I like Meyers as much as anybody but lets not kid ourselves; Agholor is a perpetually underrated receiver and easily the best of this bunch in my opinion, Edelman should get his if he can stay healthy, and personally I'd much rather pay a little more and take a flier on Harry than Meyers.

Looks like they’re just going to run their offense through the TE position, after signing Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry.

Well, it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong.

If you can't beat them on the outside (see Jets with Revis) you beat them with your TEs.
