Dillon/Gaskin

What are the going rates for these guys? I'm definitely in rebuild mode, and another guy keeps trying to buy these two low. Like real low. Dillon should be seeing a pretty big bump in value when Jones is officially a FA, and although Mia has like 15 draft picks, I can't imagine that they really focus on RB too early. Both Gaskin, and Ahmed were quite good this season when called upon.

Other guy has:
Kyler, Darnold, Eason
Justice Hill, Ozigbo, Damien Williams (that's literally it)
Lamb, Jeudy, Claypool, Hollywood, Ruggs, Crowder, Reagor, G. Davis
Hock, Irv, Knox, Fant
1.02, 1.04, 1.08, 1.09, 1.11, 1.12, 2.08, 2.11, 3.02, 5.02 for picks.

I was thinking of countering with Gaskin, and Dillon for 1.08, and 1.09.
I may have to throw in a later pick or two?

This being a 0.25 per carry league definitely bumps up the value of RBs a bit. Based on other posts, seems like both these guys are late 1sts, but there isn't too much I see on Dillon right now, other than "Buy low"

Gaskin I think is a hot potato. I know someone who can’t get any 2 for him. Dillon is a hold unless you’re getting a 1st. In a ppc league I’d likely hold over whatever offer you’re getting.

Honestly, I think you'd be very fortunate to get 1.09 for both of these guys in SF and TE premium. Both could be starters next year, but neither is a guarantee. And that pick is a real asset when 3-4 QBs plus Pitts will go top 9.
I'd call Dillon a very early 2nd and Gaskin a late 2nd as of right now. If either makes it to may still looking like the starter, their value will rise, but the risk of having very little value before they play another snap is built in (particularly for Gaskin).

Dang. If the going rate for Gaskin is only a late 2nd, I'll gladly hold. Guy is still on his rookie deal, and averaged almost 20 touches a game while being heavily involved in the passing game. Sure he was injured a bit, but 10 games played, and above 15 fantasy points in 8 of those 10, I doubt he just disappears.

Appreciate the input.

I would hold both players outside of a solid offer before free agency and the draft. It's a gamble, but I would rather bank of both players getting a decent workload than sell low or a bit too early. I like moving aging backs a year too early versus late, but that is not the case here.

I think the potential value lost if both are starters this year will far outweigh the return either will net at the moment. I’d hold both for the time being, outside of an overpay.

You will have a hard finding someone to pay the 1.09 for both of these guys right now, let alone individually. Dillon probably has higher value at an early 2nd, but I cant get any 2nd for Gaskin anywhere.

Most long time dynasty players aren't going to buy a 6th round RB in the off season where hes possible to be replaced, regardless of how good he looked the year before.

If Jones leaves GB, or Gaskin makes it through the draft I think then getting a late 1st for either of these guys is more realistic.

The narrative has been Gaskin won’t make it through the draft. It is possible but not definite, since Miami could use help in a few different places. They are also toying with the idea of a move at QB, which would reduce their stock of picks. If they draft a top option at RB, he loses his value. But if you can’t get a 2nd for him after the production he had this season, I think you have to hold and see it through.

Dillon is a hold at anything less than a mid 1st. He may not realize that value as soon as next season, but we saw what he was able to do behind that line. He is an asset I’d rather see appreciate in value on my roster than on someone else’s.

This...can't answer your question any better

I’m pursuing Dillon in my league and considering offering 1.11. Is it wise to invest such capital? I feel as though i could get Trevor Lawrence with that pick.

Where I don't disagree with the potential of him getting replaced, Why is James Robinson (Undrafted RB) valued so high, and Gaskin so low then? JRob had 0 competition in that offense, faded a bit down the stretch, new coaching regime coming in, and not as utilized in the passing game as Gaskin. I get why he's valued so high, he was really good and showed he can absolutely play, but why is the narrative so different for Gaskin? Jags have 7 picks in the first 4 rounds. Dolphins have 6 in the first 4 rounds. Couldn't they too go after a RB to compete with JRob, and lower his value, yet all over I see people taking him as a RB1, or getting a mid 1st for him.

Sorry, not trying to complain here, genuinely wondering why there is such a perceived value difference in the two.

For reference I'm also not buying Robinson, but I see your point. People are kidding themselves if they dont think both of these organizations are going to bring in additional backs to go into a 17game season. Neither of these guys will get the same workload in 2021.

The big difference in fantasy value is that JRob won the job out of the gate as a rookie(by default maybe, but still) while Gaskin took into his second year to grab the reigns. Even then, when Breida could stay healthy he looked just as good and when Ahmed got opportunities he looked just as good. My hesitation with Gaskin is that Breida and Ahmed are scrubs and performed pretty much as well. That could easily be true for JRob as well, but we really didn't see alot of evidence of it last year because they didnt use anyone else until week 16 when they had completely rolled over.

Like I said, I'm really not buying either at current prices. Where I hold Gaskin I'm holding because no1 will offer anything of value.

I just paid the 1.10 and 2x 2021 5ths and 2021 6th for Dillon and Fulgham. If jones walks, Dillons value is gonna shoot through the roof. I could see him becoming a top 5 fantasy rb on GBs high powered offense. At that price, I feel it’s worth the risk.

As a Packer fan I still sold Dillon for pick 11. Even if Jones/Williams both aren't resigned, Packers bring in competition via the draft (or cheap FA). At the same time, I hope I'm wrong and he's the next Henry...
