Made it to 3 snaps and 0 targets for Rodgers with Ertz back in this week (even though he was on a limited snap count).Pullo Vision wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 9:19 amPossible, but-jcc6fd wrote: ↑Fri Dec 04, 2020 9:48 amI thought the same thing, but Ertz is back meaning Rodgers is going back to the bench. Oh, come on now. Yeah, you can dismiss Dez, but Rodgers has at least 5 targets in 3 of the last 4 games, and his lowest catch total was 2 in those 4 games. The two combined will easily beat more than 2 catches.
1) Coach said they need to be careful with Ertz and that could mean a snap count
2) Saw/read the thought somewhere that Philly could play more 3 TE sets when that TE trio is healthy. Given the injury/performance issues at WR, makes a ton of sense to get Scott and Rodgers on the field consistently.

Re: Week 13
I do not think it will work like this at all. There are 53 men on the Eagles, the coach will owe it to them to play the best QB. If Hurts shows he is worthy of starting, they will have to play him. I have no idea how Hurts looks in practice and he will have to prove he can play in games. I am just saying it is not a forgone conclusion Wentz is the starter next year.mild wrote: ↑Sun Dec 06, 2020 6:14 pmBecause it's not a fair competition. The Eagles have clearly shown they are loathe to bench Wentz - because of the albatross contract he holds over the team. If this team were being managed with a "put the best players out there to win" mind-set with no contract considerations, then he'd have been benched long before *checks notes* "Week Thirteen, lol".
This is a three win team that still had a chance to go to the playoffs as little as two weeks ago. There was no reason to not try and "engineer a spark" earlier than the double-digit weeks of the season... they've been needing a spark since Week 1.
I feel like no matter how well Hurts does - if he is indeed the starter these last 3 games - we'll still end up in a "QB competition" in 2021 Training Camp that ends with Wentz being named the starter. They're married to him and that contract. There's no upside to benching him right off the bat - similar to the Trubiskey situation this year - they're stuck with him, and lame-ducking him in Week 1 of 2021 means you've sunk the cost.
That's why it's going to be dumb, annoying, and frustrating beyond belief for fantasy owners and Eagles fans. Everyone else gets to have popcorn and free batteries, though... so at least there's that.
Wentz's contract only gave him a long leash, that doesn't last forever though.

Are you aware that the historic 4 year, 128 million dollar contract extension that Carson Wentz signed in June 2019 with the Philadelphia Eagles...remedy29 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:36 am I do not think it will work like this at all. This team has its hands tied. This is not a Matt Flynn / Russell Wilson situation. It's far -far- worse. I can't paint it for you guys any clearer than that.

Out after 2021. 24M in dead cap, so it's not ideal.
I agree with you that it's likely a "QB competition" guaranteed to be won by Wentz in 2021. How long he stays the starter, is a mystery.

Re: Week 13
They are stuck with Wentz for 2021 (59 million dollar dead cap hit otherwise) , but they could cut him after next season and it is only a 24 million dollar dead cap hit. Which would actually save the Eagles 7 million against the cap.mild wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 12:44 pmAre you aware that the historic 4 year, 128 million dollar contract extension that Carson Wentz signed in June 2019 with the Philadelphia Eagles...remedy29 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 7:36 am I do not think it will work like this at all. So it could be a messy situation for 2021, but it isn't this nuclear, scorch the earth for the forseeable future contract that you continue to suggest.

CEH nuked me
0.5 PPR/4 point pass TD--on the fringe of a playoff spot
Down 64 with Ben, McLaurin, Diontae, Dobbins and the Steelers D vs his Ravens D
Projected to lose by 5.5
Also need Team A to beat Team B
Team A is down 18.5 with Josh Allen, Snell and Claypool vs Team B having Justin Tucker, Mostert and Logan Thomas
Projected to lose by 2
For a brief moment it looked like everything was aligning

NYJ DC Gregg Williams fired. Start of them cleaning house. Still assume Gase just takes all 16 losses before they give him the boot lol

DJM and Curtis Samuel on COVID list. Will limit the practices this week (DJM may not play regardless) but both could play assuming no positives
Re: Week 13
So far two errors in the Steelers - Football team game by the announcers and I have no where else to vent.
1) it's Ray Ray McCloud not McDonald
2) football team definitely did not have a 3 and out.
Who are these scrub announcers?

Re: Week 13
You ever wonder what would have happened if James Washington hadn't gone to one of the most loaded WR rooms in the league? I loved him coming out, he has all of the metrics and draft capital, but he hasn't amounted to much. Maybe his second contact with likely a new team will yield better results
