Dobbins or Swift

Postby Paul717 » Mon Aug 24, 2020 10:17 am

So my draft happened Saturday and it went:
CEH
Jeudy
Taylor

Leaving me with an unexpected choice of Dobbins vs. Swift at 1.04, as I desperately needed RB help more than anything else. Honestly was expecting Dobbins to be taken and would have happily selected Swift.

Given the choice, I went with Dobbins. Just trying to gauge if I made the right call. Thanks!

Might as well ask if you prefer RB Heaven or RB Hell.

I'd take swift in FULL PPR leagues but not less. The Lions are going to keep trotting out a committee no matter how good Swift looks. And sure, the Ravens will run a committee too, but the size of the pie is much larger.

This is a full PPR league.

I'll admit I was a bit spooked about having 3 of my 9 starters be from the Lions (with Hock and the Lions DST my only options right now at those positions). I wanted to get some piece of the Ravens offense.

Will be interesting to look back a few years from now. Hopefully they both pan out.

Dobbins. BTW, this should really be in the Team Advice Forum, for future.

Thanks. I...seem to botch that every time. Perhaps I need to read up on what each forum is precisely supposed to cover.

Dobbins. I think the talent is very close but Dobbins being on that offense brings him over the top

Swift is my 1.02 so him. Talent over situation, Swift will be a three down back with heavy passing game usage.

I had dobbins and swift very close at 3 and 4 for 2020. I took dobbins with my 1.03 and landed swift at 1.09 in the same draft. I just love the ravens rushing attack and Dobbins upside.

I had the same choice in both my leagues. Went Dobbins as I see him having more value early on

I say Dobbins easily. I agree with talent over situation, but I prefer Dobbins' talent.

I prefer Dobbins, but it's a toss up as there are great arguments for both. Go with your gut, hope you're right. That's the best that you can do.

I agree but the talent differential is extremely close. Hard to know which is really going to be better at this point.

I took Swift in the one league I had this choice.

Dobbins for sure. I took Dobbins at 1.03 & 1.04 in several leagues this offseason, over Swift. I think the talent is close enough but love, love Dobbins long term outlook in Baltimore, in that offense. Lucky break for you that someone took Jeudy at 1.02, I actually had the same thing happen in one of my leagues and was able to get J.Taylor at 1.03. I like Jeudy and all but can’t imagine taking him at 1.02, that’s nuts, imo.
