Drake for a 2021 1st?

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Drake for a 2021 1st?

Postby Indy Blue » Fri May 29, 2020 9:30 am

Trade involves Team 1 below. I got an offer for a 2021 1st for Drake. I'd project the 2021 1st to be mid to early as the guy offering it has picked 4th in the league the last four years running. My team is a contender next season and I have three of the first four picks in the draft this year, so I'm going CEH/Taylor + one of Dobbins/Swift/Akers.

So my question is this, I think the value is on the pick. But as a contender, even with the RBs I will have, do I give up Drake, who I think could be a top 12 back next season, given that I am competing for a championship, and rely on the rookie RBs for depth? I think the answer is yes, but wanted to see what everyone thought.

Team 2

TE: Andrews, Engram, Gesicki, Woods, Granson, Mallory

If you are a contender I could see paying that, but if the pick ends up early it could be tough come draft time.

It's fair either way. I think you'd be fine without him. Considering you are about to get CEH, Taylor, and probably Swift, and that you already have Kamara and Sanders, I'd lean the early to mid 1st here and take the pick.

Since he came to you, maybe try to get a little something on top of the pick? A third or something. But I'd do it even with you competing. I think your WR's are deep enough to handle this type of move as well.

But I have no problem if you want to hold Drake here for some more depth. Personal preference either way.

I mean maybe, but he's 26, is not on a long term deal, and hasn't really put it together before that stretch of games last season. I think he could be good this year, but if the Cardinals don't sign him to a long term deal and he leaves as a free agent his value plummets again. Hence why I'm thinking of cashing out and buying into next years also hyped class.

2018 when he took over for Ajayi he was the #7 RB the last 6 or so weeks , He just never got the chance look at the coach he had lol , but did good with the carries he had , He is 26 but not a lot of touches so far so he should be more fresh than another player his age..

Didn't Arz just sign him for 3 years was it ? Probably a top 5 offence that just added Hopkins , Now watch the holes he has when facing 7 man fronts all game lol

NVM 1 year I thought they gave him 3 I was wrong , but I do think they will give him more years

You have 5 of the first 7 picks with that roster???? I'd wait until the draft plays out and then I'd look to move him. Assuming your grabbing CEH and Taylor at 1/2 then bpa with the other firsts. I'm either taking all of the picks or packaging picks / bench players for a stud rb. Good luck.

I would take the pick in a vacuum, let alone with the picks you have this year

Wow. As a Drake owner I'd love that, but I don't see that at all. He's almost 27. He has never been an RB1 or a lead back for any length of time. I just don't see that type of production at this stage of his career. AT LEAST 3 years of RB1. I'd be dancing if that happened, but I'd also put money against it.
