The person defended it by saying it's tough to sell him for a 1st. Their argument was he'll "again" have a new QB and, to me, seemed too much based on fatigue about not meeting expectations

KTC puts him very near a 2024 late first. If the pod and site reflect values of actual DJM owners, looks like there's a buy window, like Lamb recently.
Yep, he's officially Brandin Cooks.

+ Produces T-24 seasons
- Nobody wants to buy at his actual value
- Fatigue about not meeting expectations is spot on.

He'll only be 26, and will be playing with either Young or Stroud next year if the Panthers get a Top-2 pick.
I am not sure the Rams or Bears (if no Fields) win again this year. Carolina probably will be picking closer 10 than 2 if I had to predict. The Seattle pick from the Rams will be the trade up spot to nab a QB if teams are interested. That pick will not be cheap
Rather than sucking for Luck or tanking for Trevor, all these bottom tier teams are fighting hard and collecting wins. Hard to see that as anything other than an indictment of the QB class.

Love the Cooks comp value wise.

Not that I disagree with you that it's possible. It's just that I have been thinking it's possible for each of the past three years and I've been tragically incorrect each and every year.

So I'll agree it's possible, but I can't be Charlie Brown any more and say it's probable. Never underestimate the Panthers' ability to decide to bring in Wentz or pay way too much to bring Russ home.

The way it's looking, Carolina's pick will be in the early-to-late teens, and I don't want to waste a great spot (for any other position) on the risky sort of QB available at 1.16. I'd prefer the Panthers to acquire Goff, use the draft to fix holes elsewhere, and see how that works out. Keep Darnold as a backup, because even Sam has to know he's not getting a starting job next season, and he seems to have accepted that role. Cut every other QB on the roster.

Oh I'm sure the Panthers will screw it up, but even then, will whatever they do be worse than Baker Mayfield/PJ Walker/Sam Darnold? Goff would be an upgrade. That's saying a lot. I guess the Wentz scenario would be a downgrade.

Almost like players need to play well and coaches need to coach well and win in order to keep there job. Teams get wins every year. Dolphins with the worst roster I've ever seen got 5 and picked 5th.

But yeah Moore is probably new cook/lockett/whatever productive vet without elite upside that is a bargain

As a DJM owner, I've been looking forward to Sam Darnold taking over the reins again. Pretty sad I know.
At least DJM is a WR2 with Darnold, averaging 14.7 PPR PPG in 11 games last year with Darnold.

Baker is just absolute garbage, as he did his best to ignore DJM.
DJM averaged 5.8 PPR PPG with Baker as his starting QB.

I am not a huge Darnold fan, but at least DJM is playable with Darnold at QB.

Better days are ahead for dj Moore, his value is at an all time low.

I was able to aquire dj Moore and a 2025 third for cam Akers and Wandale Robinson (pre injury for Robinson and pre benching/mental break down of Akers)

We don't know the 2023 QB, but could Reich's scheme be a production boon for Moore?

I really don't think it matters at this point. DJM has been a locked in WR2/3 his entire career. Nice to see he's allowed to catch more than 4 TD and I'd love to see him with an Elite QB, but I'm not mad with his steady career production either.

dj moore stats (targets/receptions/yards/TDs) with darnold as a starter:

6/4/103/1
3/0/0/0
6/5/73/1
7/5/83/1
10/6/117/1
4/1/10/0

the last one was week 18 and a very low scoring game at saints.
goose egg(s) aside, he's done alright with darnold and a terrible head coach. next year is finally the time! (as usual)

Yeah, the scheme is pretty secondary at this point. Who's the QB? Are they moving up for one of the QBs in this draft? Are they trading for Carr? Lamar Jackson?
