LOL ... that's what we need, another mediocre team in the playoffs. I already skip most/all the wildcard games as it is.

Get ready for 17 games I guess. Anybody know how the byes will work? What about the schedule template?

Interesting that they stick with 1 bye week. Would have expected a 2nd bye week.

I’m sure a lot of players won’t like this, but for fantasy purposes, I love the idea of an extra week of regular season play.

Anyone think you'll see more players sit out random weeks for "load management" purposes much like Kawhi Leonard does in the NBA? It's only one more week, but these games take a toll on these guys.

The fact there's only one 1st round playoff bye means more incentive to play for, but once you have a front runner that's 12-1 and doesn't look like they'll lose any games out why not rest a few knowing you'll have to battle another game.

I read no suspensions for illegal drugs. So how does this work. Justin Blackmon (kidding) and Josh Gordon are good to go? Good for Kareem Hunt?

Could someone post what the actual updates are? 17 games? 7 playoff teams per conference? 1 1st round bye for 1 team?

No chance. Football culture is playing through injuries and toughing it out, plus one game still makes up a far larger percentage of the schedule than in any other league.

Also helped by a significant reduction in padded practices. That reduction alone I think I heard would get rid of almost 500 full action snaps. Granted it’s still practice but it’s still a significant reduction in wear and tear.

1st step to flag football or 2 hand touch. Sure it's less wear & tear but why do you think tackling has gotten so much worse in the last 10-15 years? No 2 a days. Fewer & fewer padded practices. Hard to work on tackling technique in a walkthrough.

Don’t disagree at all. Going to be interesting to see how bad football is the first few weeks of this new season.

Has tackling gotten worse?

I think o-lines have been worse since the previous CBA when they reduced practices. That and defenders keep getting bigger, faster, & stronger.
