At 3.10 in my first startup dynasty draft I took AJ Green over Macklin. Was this a real bad pick? Curious on what people think.

Green went a round before Maclin in my startup a few weeks ago. He has a higher ceiling than Maclin but also a lower floor.

I recently was involved in a large trade where 1 of the components was me giving up AJ Green for Maclin.

For that specific team, the trade made a lot of sense, but I can also see the flip-side of it, which also made plenty of sense.

Much different players, but to me, their net value is very very close. So if you took AJ Green over Maclin, then you won. If you took Maclin over AJ Green, then you also won.

I can go along with this. Both are attractive players to own who I think many of us have a lot of confidence in as talented players.

I prefer AJ Green. Maclin is very talented but is more of a cog on a very good offense. AJ Green will be the center of his offense and I would bet he gets more targets and more redzone targets than Maclin.

Very close. Be happy with your pick.

It wouldn't surprise me at all to see Gresham evolve into a Jermichael Finley caliber TE, and take food out of AJ Green's basket the same way that Finley takes away from Greg Jennings.

Shipley is looking solid too.

Not saying this to degrade AJ Green, just mentioning that he'll have competition for the ball just like Maclin does.

It's a push. You couldn't have gone wrong either way.

I like Green ahead of Maclin. But, it's not far apart right now in value.

After writing this post I started to think about this post and I came up with the following (a little off topic):
I really like macklin, but I actually think vick hurts his value. I do not think vick has that kind of throwing year again and I think him and Djax might not produce monster numbers.
I know Vick is a changed man, but when decent defenses had good game plans against Vick he usually struggled. I wonder if that will start to happen this year? his completion percentage went down in the end of last year.
I still think Vick puts up good fantasy numbers along as he is healthy, but I have a feeling there might be some rough stretches if you own a wr on a Vick led team.
From weeks 12-16 (not counting 17 because phili rested players); Macklin and jackson both had over 8.3 fantasy points in a ppr league only once in any given week. Although to Mackil's credit he only scored under 8.3 once, but it happened to Djax 3 times.

Also Macklin is the best wr option in Phili especially in PPR leagues.

IMO that's good for Green. I think that's a much better situation for him than if Carolina had taken him with Steve Smith looking like he already has one foot out the door. Keep the defense honest.
