Lamar vs Jameis

What are folks thoughts on these two? Team is in my sig. Jameis owner is voicing interest in LJax and I have some interest in Jameis. It actually seems quite even to me, maybe one of us has to add a pick of sorts.

He has seemed to regret his pick of Jameis since our start-up a couple years ago and I'm intrigued with the addition of Arians. I like LJax and am rooting for him to succeed, but I just don't have confidence he will and with the soon(ish) retirement of Brees has me evaluating things.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I own Jameis (behind Cam and Baker) in a 1QB league and I really like his prospects. It's a make or break year for him but I think there are enough weapons around him and a positive new influence in Arians. He has every chance to succeed. Lamar is probably the safer play but he seems like a Tyrod Taylor lite. Whereas Jameis Winston seems to have a higher ceiling, albeit higher risk.

I would rather have Jameis. Haven't checked their values in a while but they seem close, maybe Lamar valued a little higher so you might be able to get a smaller pick on top.

I like Jameis a little more. I traded Lamar for Jameis and a 3rd rounder two days ago.

im going Lamar; you have Luck as your staple QB1; Brees for one more year while Rosen and Lamar develop. Id keep Lamar as your qb 3-4 and hold onto the upside which is 10x Winstons imo. I have Lamar as my qb3 for team 1 for that same reason. if he becomes a fantasy stud great but if not it won't ruin my team

Jackson has way more upside and could be a league winner if he puts it all together. Go big!

Nothing should be adding imo, but I wouldn’t be adverse to either side adding a nominal pick depending on who instigated the discussions.

I'd say Jackson >= Winston, but if you like Winston, and the other owner came to you, offer Jackson for Winston + 2020 2nd. That's pretty fair for both sides in superflex.

I'd rather have Jackson, especially if you don't need to start him right now.

Jackson is a big no go for me. The guy wont last, as soon as people work the system out it will show that he couldn't hit a barn door outside the numbers. Winston for all of his negatives at least has some level of understanding of how to QB at a pro level.

Both higher risk/reward guys but Jameis is a little safer if only for the fact that he’s established.

I agree with some posters that it looks like Lamar won’t last with his inaccuracy, but if he does, look out. Also there’s a chance something like this plays out: he never puts it together to be a stud real life qb, but he starts and sticks around a few years and puts up reasonable, if not really good QB2 fantasy numbers due to rushing ability.

I own Lamar and I would trade him for Jameis in a second. JW should be great with Arians and I think Lamar = RG3.

This is exactly what I imagine him being. 5-6 years of back end QB1 high end Qb2 based off of rushing alone but will be out of the league by the time he's in his late 20's to early 30s.
