Always get firsts. You'll be able to exchange for picks later on pretty easily.

Either one. If you get a 2019 and decide later that you want a 2020, someone will most likely be willing to swap with you (or pay more on top).

2019 isn't a good RB class. There's better WRs than RBs.

I have WR's, need RB's - thats why I'm thinking 2020.

Main RBs in that draft are Montgomery, Snell, Love, and Harris.
The issue with this class is that there isn't really a high end RB ALA Gurley, Zeke, the big 4 of 2017, Bark

Some others to keep an eye on not listed:

Benny Snell Jr RB Kentucky (fun fact: he has a "snell yeah" tattoo on his chest)
JJ Arcega-Whiteside WR Stanford
Deebo Samuel WR South Carolina
Collin Johnson WR Texas (personal favorite)
Hakeem Butler WR Iowa State
Jalen Hurd WR Baylor (Former Tenn RB)
Noah Fant TE Iowa
Irv Smith, Jr. TE, Alabama

My top 3 right now would be Metcalf, Johnson, or Harry... with a heavy Harry lean at 1.1. As others said Metcalf season is over so who knows with him moving forward.

If I had the 1.01 today, he's my pick.
the guy listed sub-170 lbs??? yikes

The thing I don't like about trading for picks for future picks in my leagues, is that nobody seems to add value into waiting an additional year. So a 2019 first is a 2020 first. I know to many people that is a great trade since the value of those picks 2 years out will yield the superior player, in theory. But so much changes in a year and you still are waiting at least another full season to even see that player on the field. This is the long game of dynasty, but I always felt a 2019 2nd= a 2019 1st, or something along those lines.

But that doesn't hold up logically because if you did that trade every year it would be completely lopsided

The blanket statement of "a '19 2 = a '20 1" is incorrect, but there is definitely a bit of a lesser value on a pick 2 years out versuses one for the upcoming draft. I would say a top 3 pick in the 2nd round of 2019 would probably be worth a '20 1st though for example.

Weight is becoming less of a factor in the NFL for WRs. Antonio Brown, Brandin Cooks, T.Y. Hilton, John Brown, and Calvin Ridley are all 180. Brown will likely gain weight in the NFL to reach that range. Plus, there are so many rules now that protect WR's from crazy hits.

Like I said, I don't see a WR in this class who's as skilled as Brown at doing things that typically translate into good NFL WR's.

Solid take ... also with a few notable exceptions (i.e. Wentz & Mahomes), the most recent batch of young QBs are thriving on system rather than talent. Gaining separation and creation easily identifiable “open” opportunities are more important to a WR production.

AJ Brown shouldn’t be in anyone’s list for the 1.01 or 1.02 IMO, he’s just not special. He might be able to do what Crabtree has done the past 3-4 years, but I don’t see anything beyond that. He’s a Tyler Boyd type prospect.

I would much rather trade the 1.01 or 1.02 for AJG, Thielen, KA, or a RB like DJ, Mixon, Cook+, etc if your leaguemates are hungry for a top pick (and someone always is)
