Jay Ajayi on IR - Smallwood an RB2 now?

I added Smallwood last week as a waiver claim. Looks like a steal now. Does he beat out Clement?

Man this really sucks. Not sure what to expect next year in FA for him... MAYBE he can get into a Carlos Hyde type situation where he’s a 1-year rental? Otherwise I fear he might descend into the Jeremy Hill career path.

Hopefully those who had Ajayi listened to the dozens saying to sell.

Fun to think about but not sure how they make the cap space to take him under the tag.

Smallwood's been playing so well, I'd be shocked if they don't stick with him for a while. Clement mixes in. And then maybe Adams.

And don't forget whoever they bring in as a FA too - probably some vet to confuse this backfield for fantasy owners even more.

As a Clement owner, I hope he wrestles away the majority of touches and keeps that role going forward. More realistically, I think this could be messy between 3-4 guys.

I forgot about Sproles too - yeah he's old and hurt right now, but they loved throwing him out there early in the season.

So... more mess!

Smallwood looked good and Adams can definitely take some carries. They could also largely abandon the run like Minnesota has.

Assuming your 1st sig team, you seem in a good place- James White stepping up, Yeldon too, Ingram coming back. Certainly better than my sig team.

My guess is a committee: Clement/Sproles/Smallwood once they all get healthy.

I think you are all undervaluing Smallwood. He can easily be a 15 PPG RB in PPR. He is better than all RBs on the current roster.

That's not saying much though.

Also worth noting that Ajayi was RB26 in PPG and RB32 in Total Points after yesterday. I doubt Smallwood is capable of doing a whole lot better. At best, maybe a low-end RB2.
