Who do you like going forward for this year and years to come?

I was super high on Burton in the offseason and snagged him in my rookie/ FA draft. He had good chemistry with Trubisky in the preseason, but they haven't seemed to click as much during the regular season. Just wondering if i should attempt to trade Burton for Rudolph.

I think Trey Burton is the upside TE play, he's more athletic and has more big play ability and currently in a scheme where he will grow and has a higher ceiling but lower floor.

Whereas Rudolph I see as an old school TE safety blanket with a better floor but lower ceiling.

So overall it kind of depends on the way your team is made up, if you need a consistent 10-13pts (ppr) each week go with Rudolph if you're needing your TE to 'win' you a week id go with Burton.

Value wise I have them both around a high 2nd value, if Burton cements a floor his value will creep up after this season.

Appreciate the input. My team is pretty stacked, so I'm really needing a solid TE to get me consistent points.

TEs in non te premium leagues are similar to QBs in 1qb leagues for me. That is, I typically prefer the upside guy as high floor guys can often be found if he doesn't work out.

This has been a worse than usual year for middle of the road TEs but it will bounce back and there will be a surplus again soon enough.

Burton's floor is 0 points. I still don't trust Mitch. However, his ceiling is TE #1. Rudolph is a safe pick with a low TE1 or high TE2 ceiling. I think being in such a dynamic offense will hurt him, especially if they find a 3rd WR. I'd go risk and take Burton.
