Breida and 1st for Sutton

This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Breida and 1st for Sutton

Postby hjernazian » Mon Sep 17, 2018 3:03 am

Considering making this trade for my Team 2, it's on the table. I would get Sutton, I would give Breida and a likely late first. I love having the idea of Sutton and Moore developing in the shadows, and don't think I can land a better player than Sutton with a late first, and Breida is likely a one year guy, whom I don't need with my RB squad.

Thoughts? TIA

i think this same trade is likely available later in the year when you can determine better the actual placement of the first and whether or not its a move you still think is a good one. i just dont see the point in it right now, as breida and the first are much more necessary components to a title run (the first because you can trade for a win now player to make a push to win it all later in the year but not as easily if you have already parted with your first)
team 1
12 team, 1 pt for 4 rec, 0.1 per rush
1qb, 3 rb, 4 wr, te, k, 4 idp
Dak , Herbert
Achane, Breece Hall, KW3Kyren,Ford, Miller, Spiller, z evans, singletary
J Jefferson, Diggs, DK, D Smith Puka, C Watson, E Moore
Njoku , HH, Engram

2024 picks
1,3,4,5,5,6,7 (all late mostly)

team 2
12 team .5ppr
qb, 2 rb, 2 wr, te, flx,flx,
Fields, Dak
Ford,Mixon, Javonte, Mostert, Chubb, Spears
Hopkins, Evans, g Wilson Mingo, shaheed, Jamo
Kelce,McBride, Chig,

1,2,3,3,5

team 3
14 team sf, even scoring idp to offense (rb scores highly too)
Josh Allen, A Rich, Foles, Rudolph
Bijan, Charbs, Spears, Ebner
J Williams, G Wilson, C Watson, Flowers, J Addison, Tillman
Kincaid, Kolar, Ruckert, Fergeson

Kenny Clark, josh allen, jaelen phillips, felix a-u and a bunch of fluff and rookie fliers at idp

I'd probably pay that for Sutton. I'm not sure the trade will be available later in the season because I'm assuming the Sutton owner will continue looking for another RB if he can't get Breida. If you're confident the 1st will be late, I'd pull the trigger. If not, stay put.

oh man I don't know. I think we might have just witnessed the emergence of Matt Breida.

I like Sutton but I think this is a dangerous trade to make. My spidey sense is tingling.

Good time to trade away Breida and buy Sutton. Do it. Wouldn't be surprised if SF drafts an RB early in 2019.

Sutton isn't worth more than a late first at most. He was taken between the late first and early second in most leagues. You should be getting more if you're adding a starting RB, even if Brieda is a one year rental

Kinda what I was thinking. Breida alone or the 1st alone wouldn't get me to trade Sutton, but throw in a 2nd to one and I'd consider. Breida and a 1st is too much.

Yeah, that's what I countered with, but he's not having it. He's aware (as am I) it's a slight overpay, but this is a 12 man league with deep rosters, so the odds of grabbing someone like Sutton are close to none. Only reason I am fine with the slight overpay is Breida is currently my RB5, and think I can get it done with Hunt, CMC, Tevin and Duke. My WR's don't have much long-term or depth, so I figure to build off of DJ Moore and Coutland Sutton my first year, while I contend for the chip.

I agree but this is exactly when you sell on a player like Breida. At the very best, he's a very good RB2 for this year. There is no way the UDFA is atop the depth chart this time next year in my strong opinion. I'm also thinking sell high while I can, and if he has virtually no dynasty value longer term, I'd be giving up a late first with which I'd hope to grab someone close to Sutton.

That's a very good point. I have to think a little bit more about this one. My starting lineup is fantastic but depth behind not so much.

Problem is you're not really getting sell high value on Breida here. Sutton isn't worth much more than a late first at all so you're pretty much getting throw-in value for him.

After preseason, camp, and now him being at least involved in games with the two ahead of him, he's worth more than a late first.
