UPDATE: Trade accepted - Thinking of trading away Josh Allen...forum's thoughts?

im obviously in the minority here, but id prefer allen by quite a bit over rivers (given the circumstance of you taking him in rd 1 of your draft). this time next year, my guess is....most here will aswell. the kid has a nice skillset and while im not all that intrigued by his situation, that can change in a hurry.

i give rivers 3 years max, id imagine allen see's the field this year, but if not, should certainly start the 2019 season. meanwhile the 38 yr old rivers will be on his way out.

this could or would certainly change if your looking for a starter, but your not. you are stricltly giving 1.12+ for a 37 yr old back up qb for your team.

very few will be suprised if allen ends up being the best fantasy qb in this draft. jackson has the upside, rosen the safest, darnold the pedigree, mayfield is a bum. i realize owners want to see what allen can do against competition.....its a waiting game. id be sure to wait if the best you can do is rivers and you have to add.

Sloth8u, I respect your opinion. One day Allen may take over Brady's GOAT mantle. Then again, Allen may not. Don't let investing a 1.12 pick in Allen cloud the issue though. I would've rather picked any one of Miller, Ridley or Sutton, but in this league QBs are worth gold. I could debate with you Rivers' stand alone value and present/future value to my team, but I believe your personal bias of Rivers clouds your judgment and my words would fall on 'deaf ears' so to speak. I'm satisfied I landed a low end QB1 my team can start for the next 2 to 4 seasons.

i really hope that Josh Allen becomes a legitimate QB at some point... to call Allen a bust before even playing one snap in the NFL..but then think that Foles is the next coming after playing in 3 games last season..Foles completion % was only 56.4...isn't that the same downfall most are complaining about Allen?
i drafted Allen in a 12 team superflex @ 2.04...at that point, it almost doesn't matter ... couldn't pass it up

anyway, although i don't exactly feel the same as most about Allen..i think it was a good trade for your team for this season and likely the next couple as well..

Thanks Vixen. I wouldn't call Allen a bust; he has tremendous potential. Trust me, I struggled initially with the thought of trading him away. However, Allen's challenges go beyond only a low completion %. May I eventually regret this trade in years to come? Certainly, it's possible. In the end though, I too believe it was a good trade for my team this season and the next 2 to 4 seasons as well. Thanks again.
