Have You Ever Protested A Trade Or Voted One Down?
If so, what was the trade and why?

About 3 years ago the trade was Julio Jones to the team that was in first place at the time (mid way in the season) for the teams first round pick, so basically Julio Jones for a late first. The guy trading away Julio was his first year in the league.

Ah, I gotcha.

In an IDP league my buddy protested a trade and he needed a second person to put it to a vote. I gave him that second just to see what would happen. The trade wasn't put up to a vote, as the commissioner felt that he shouldn't do that.

Trade was this

First Place Team Received:
Telvin Smith

Bottom-Dwelling Team Received:
Brian Hartline
Tandon Doss

So basically, two scrub WRs for a LB1.

Assuming it was 2014, Smith was a rookie LB and Hartline was coming off of back to back 1000 yard seasons. Smith got off to a pretty slow start through week 10 and finished as the LB 20ish in most scoring formats. Not quite an LB1 yet. #context.

If you're talking dynasty then NO and NEVER. There's no place for that in dynasty imho

I protest trades that I think are unbalanced by more than the value of a future 1st, but only if the better team gets the advantage.

If you want an example, last year in a free fleaflicker startup draft some joker traded startup 1.16 for a 2018 1st and a 2019 2nd plus some later picks that didn't add up to much. I threatened to quit the league right then and there in the first round. I don't like to play with people like this.

Not in dynasty but I’ve piped up in a redraft league. Same guys for several years, trade involved future picks. So one team ended up with an extra stud this year, and the other team ended up with two 1sts next year. Not cool in my book.

Some years ago, the commish and his real-world buddy did a very unbalanced trade. Someone tried to organize a veto within the rules. The review period was 24-48 hours (don't remember) and had a fairly high threshold- I think 7 of the 10 of the owners not part of the trade needed to vote veto.

It was almost vetoed. Next offseason, both owners left and I became commish.

The only one I've ever protested, the owner said he made a mistake deal was a player (forget who ) and an early 3rd (3.03 ish) for a future 3rd. Mot really a big deal deal. But obviously off in terms of value

Only time we vetoed was when an established owner brought in a new guy for someone that had left the league (new guy was also very new to dynasty), then continued to make trade after trade with said new guy, each continuously more one sided in favor of the established owner.

When the 4th trade was awaiting veto/confirmation (I forgot what it was exactly, but it was a very, very low offer for a top RB) we as a league started a group chat and decided to not only veto the trade, but also kick the new owner and hand out a warning to the other owner.

Mind you this was also after multiple owners in our league had offered to help the new guy with advice on player values, had given him links to sites such as this one, had suggested to shop players to the whole league before underselling to his buddy again (this was one of the chief complaints) etc etc. When those attempts fell on deaf ears we decided to cut ties for the health of the league.

Other than that I've never seen a trade vetoed in any of my leagues, and I would only ever do so if I felt the health of the league was at stake, as in the example above.
