Sutton vs Kirk

Who you like better long term and why?

I don't think either has much value this year, but starting next year both could have big roles.

I'm trying to decide which one to pick in the early 2nd round of my rookie/ FA draft (if both are still there).

I actually disagree that neither guy has value this season, I think Kirk could lead rookie WRs in at least one area of statistical production. He should definitely be the WR2 in AZ, and no worse than the 3rd target on the team.

Long term tho, I'd take Sutton by a hair because I just don't see Kirk as a very talented WR (he's a great ST asset who I feel was overdrafted).

I actually like them both quite a bit. Kirk is the more elusive of the two which could really help him in the slot. Sutton is the bigger of the two with prototype size to play outsize. Sutton actually displayed a bit better short area skills at the combine which surprised me a bit.

I have been going back and forth on these two. Today I think Sutton by a hair as well. I think Kirk is in the better situation and will probably contribute more early.

Coin flip for me ultimately so my choice could come down to roster asset protection.

Sutton is the longterm play and you always want the long term play for WR

Thing is for me I don't think I shouldn't need immediate production this year. I have OBJ, M Thomas, Cooper, Crowder, Parker, Westbrook, and Corey Coleman. Just looking for the best long term play, so I've been going back and forth on these 2.

Sutton was my number one wr before the draft. I traded kupp for the pick in order to get him. I plan on waiting 2-3 years, but I am ok with that.

If any of these WR's become a true X in this draft, it's Sutton. I'll take him. He has the size, with a good enough speed score, and absolutely off the charts agility. His ceiling is the higher by far of any WR in this draft IMO.

Agreed. Although, I like DJ Moore a lot as well...but I'm not thrilled about the pairing with Newton.
A lot of people are (IMO correctly) no longer holding WR size as important as they once held it. Because of how the passing game has been trending, smaller and more agile, difficult to keep up with WRs can do more for you than big bodied "my ball" WRs. I think some people are looking past Sutton because he's a big bodied guy and that just isn't as coveted an attribute as it once was. He's ALSO incredibly agile, which should give him more of that "difficult to keep up with" attribute.
