Who is your league's unluckiest owner?

There's some rookie and startup drafts going on now, but still feels slow with fantasy so figured I'd make a light hearted thread. Who is your league's most unfortunate/unlucky owner? I don't mean a bad owner that makes stupid trades, but maybe they make trades that are smart at the time but bite them hard in hindsight. Maybe they finally made it to the championship game and all their players get hurt for week 16. Maybe they just have a spiteful girlfriend or wife that stole their phone and submitted their lineup for a playoff week (As my wife keeps threatening to do)

My main league it's the commissioner. He sold DJ after his big game in that 2015 season in what surely felt a sell high time. He also sold off Bell as an add in piece his rookie season. I forget exactly who he got, but with 2013/2015 goggles on they looked win trades for him at the time

Another owner has a winning record by far last 3 years, has won his division twice in that span, but has never once beaten his division rival. Talking winning almost every single game for the year except the two against this guy, then matching up in playoffs or championship, and then losing again. He is 0-9 against this owner with only 12 losses total the last 3 years. Other owner of course has a good team as well, but it's not some world beater that thumps everyone. He typically makes playoffs as a wildcard while the "unlucky" owner gets a first round bye.

Anyone else got someone you just feel bad for?

"Me!"
-Almost every owner in my main league.

One owner has almost always had a strong team, but never won the 'ship (league is in 17th year). 3 times he's been a top 2-3 scorer and missed the playoffs, and he also has been beaten in barnburners multiple times in the playoffs, including last year when the Titans kicker bailed out the other team with a 30 point game to hand him a 1 point loss in week 15.

Another team faced the high scorer 8 of the first 10 weeks last season. He ended up 3rd in total points and missed the playoffs (top 3 in total points were all in the same 3 team division).

In the past 5 years, I have been the top seed twice and the last team in the playoffs 3 times. Both times I was the top seed I crapped the bed in round 1 (we don't have a bye), and the 3 times I was the last team in I knocked off the top seed on the way to winning it all. So I'm either all lucky or all unlucky

Last year in the 2017 pre-season, an owner got OBJ, Dalvin Cook, ARod, in what were wins for him in the deals he made. All three got hurt early in the season and he finished 10th. Oh wait, that was me.

Well enjoy the early draft pick to improve a solid team for 2018 then!

We had a startup 3 years ago, and he went win now, but he had the worst luck ever. We literally joke about how anyone that is going to retire is target for him or that having him pick in the draft before you is good luck.

He had the following retirees, some surprises, some he just held on too long and should have expected it

Calvin Johnson
Arian Foster
Andre Johnson
Jay Cutler
Matt Jones (not sure if he's retired, but I don't think he's on a roster)

His picks have been
Treadwell and Boyd before M Thomas
M Williams before Hunt, Kamara

Well last season I had a WR corp of Demaryius Thomas, Tyrell Williams, Cameron Meredith, Jeremy Maclin, Pierre Garcon, Josh Doctson, and Zay Jones heading into last season, I felt like I at least had a bunch of WR2s/WR3s if not better and it all went to bleep. So I guess I'm the unlucky one.

I had Spencer Ware and Meredith tear their knees up in week 3 of preseason. I was all set to take Kareem Hunt at 1.8 to replace Ware but the injury pushed his stock up and he got sniped at 1.6. Thankfully Kenyan Drake, Alex Collins and Jerick Mckinnon ended up forming my new RB corp but my WR group that got nuked into oblivion is still a work in progress.

Our commish. The league is going into it's 8th year. Here is how he has finished each year so far.

2011 7th in scoring, 5-9 record, missed playoffs (nothing out of the ordinary so far)

2012 5th in scoring, 5-9 record, missed playoffs (more ho hum)

2013 5th in scoring, 7-7 record, missed playoffs (getting better)

2014 3rd in scoring, 7-7 record, missed playoffs

2015 sets new league record for points scored by a large margin, 14-0 record, makes the playoffs for the first time and immediately loses first round by four points to a team that just barely squeaked into the playoffs.

2016 1st in scoring, 11-3, loses first round of playoffs

2017 1st in scoring, 7-6-1, misses the playoffs by three spots

In summary, the guy is the historical league leader in points scored, but can't seem to ever make the playoffs. Even when he has, he gets knocked out right away. He builds a powerhouse team every year by taking advantage of poor trades (2015 he traded into position for Zeke), but still can't get it done.

Sounds to me like a lot of you guys need to add a wild card playoff spot to your leagues haha.

That eliminates someone having the most PF in the regular season not making the playoffs. We do a wild card or two in basically all of my leagues and it gives the playoff spot to the team that truly deserves it, not a garbage team that just happened to go 8-5 despite being the #9 scoring team in the league. It rewards skill and eliminates unluckiness.

Clearly me. The only reason I don't win EVERY year.

We've used a points wildcard forever. It just happens too often that someone with a really good team gets screwed by matchups. It also keeps interest up for teams with bad records, they can still make the playoffs if they score enough points.
