Anyone who sold him earlier for the outrageous picks he was fetching was smart. This guy is nicked up all the time - and will continue to be. Big time boom-bust. Me, I expect bucketloads of bust as the 3-headed monster RBBC looks very possible.

They sure do. It appears to be a precautionary measure, from everything I have read, but after what happened with Guice, who knows?
Not even just Guice, but the list of players who've torn their ACL in training camp and OTA's is long. I'm definitely no doctor, but it seems something is really wrong here with so many players tearing their ACL like it's the new ankle sprain.
"McKinnon told Matt Maiocco he was fine as well." I remember hearing this with Guice, too. Fingers crossed. I think ther have been 15 ACL's, someone was saying in the injury thread I started a while back.
We are at 18 now ...

I remember the guys on the Wobcast (a MIN podcast featuring sr marketing of Vikings, Mike Wobschall) and they were amused with the fervor McKinnon was getting, even suggesting listeners take a break. They contested he was not the answer and not even close to being a featured back .. gave me great pause at the time because I was high on McKinnon's athleticism ..

I have great amount of respect for Mike and Chris Corso on that pod though, so I have certainly cooled my jets on him ..

Pun?

I drafted him pre-FA in the late 8th, so if I can get RB2 numbers I'm happy. Anything else is a bonus.

Alfred Morris is in there now. He'll likely take over.
That was fast San Fran! Another camp body to compete for a starting role. Lot of uncertainty for now.
Seeing reports that McNichols is running with the 1s. Morris is with the 2s, and Williams with the 3s. Not a good sign for Williams owners.

Looks like Jimmy G has a real chance to be their leading rusher in September! :P

Yeah, I was thinking Williams had a chance but now not so much. Will be dropping him most likely.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Jerick McKinnon suffered what appeared to be a "concerning" injury during Saturday's workout.

This is how my season ends... Trade any player you see in my Sig. I dodged preseason only to get his as the season begins...

Now you just sound like a twat
Please explain this vague accusation.

Any Vikings fan will tell you the following about McKinnon: He gets hurt a lot, doesn't fall forward, gets arm tackled at the line too often...... BUT...... is good in open space and can catch out of the backfield.

Guy always gets hurt, and here he is again. I'm not shocked. I hope he's OK, but all this does is support everything that's been said before.
I monitor who I should and shouldn't listen to on these forums. Guess which list you've just made?

So an oft-injured player whose never been a bellcow that was drafted to be a bellcow won't be a bellcow because he's injured again. Shocking.

And now:

49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said the team is "extremely concerned" about the injury Jerick McKinnon suffered during Saturday's workout.

Sounds like this might be a season ender.

At least McKinnon is only a flex consideration for me in the one place I had him. Tried to sell him but had no success.

“It was the last play of practice, made a cut on air, no one was around him, just went down, looked awkward,” Shanahan said. “We’re concerned about it but we don’t have an MRI done so we don’t know for sure.

Non contact injury. Not good. Last play of practice, too. Geez. Sounds like an ACL tear.
