Alex Collins - Price Check

What do you guys feel is a realistic price for Collins in 2018 draft picks?

I do acknowledge there is some real/perceived uncertainty/competition at the rb position for the Ravens, but Collins put up some excellent numbers/production last year both running and sneakly receiving (Similar & one could argue more consistant fantasy numbers down the stretch last year, when compared to Hunt after week 8. Note: I am not calling Collins=Hunt, it was simply a fantasy points observation when looking at end of year rb fantasy numbers.).

That being said I get the feeling that most people don't view his value to be anywhere close to some of the other similar aged first/second year rbs or incoming rookies value. (Collins is only 23yrs old)

Am I out of line to value (at least at the moment) Collins as worth a 2018 mid-1st pick?

What would it take for you to trade him & what would be the most you would pay for him?

Thanks!

Most of us saw him as an early 2nd

( I just got him for 2 early 3rds )

No one will pay that, but no you're not insane for valuing Collins over, say, Kerryon Johnson or Rashad Penny. Realistically he is "worth" more like a 12-14 pick to most people.

I've liked Collins since he was drafted in Seattle. He was undervalued all season- even after his production continued to stay steady.
I agree- most won't give up a first for him, but value wise I'd say he is even with the 2nd tier RB's coming out of college.

I would grab him while his value is still undervalued.

This is a hard one, on one hand i have flashbacks about crowell from last year and im scared to not sell high(highish)

On the other hand collins looked pretty legit all year...

Personally the only way id move collins is if he were part of a package to upgrade rb, i currently have 1.08/1.09 (with a need at rb) and am not sure who id take here, meaning that personally i wouldnt take a late 1st(rather just gamble on collins at 23 vs a late 1st rookie)

Alex Collins performed well last season.

However, you still have Kenneth Dixon and either a free agent or addition from the draft.

He imo is worth an mid second round pick.

I sold Collins right before the postseason for what should have been a 2.05-2.06 draft pick but of course, the guy's teams goes on a magical run and makes it to the finals. At least he lost in the finals but my spirit was already broken.

Felt okay making the trade initially because I'd be recuperating something for a guy who had been picked up and dropped more than I can count over the last few seasons.

Collins did play really well this year, a far cry from what everyone saw in Seattle but you still get that feeling that Baltimore isn't 100% committed i.e. Harbaugh came out and said while Collins had a good year, they are looking to upgrade everywhere they can.

Collins "should" be worth a mid 2nd in my opinion. The one main concern I have for him is the ability of D's to "stack the box" as the Baltimore passing attack could be one of the worst in the league. I mean, who is Flacco gonna throw to???

At this point, i think he's worth 1.10-1.12. I wouldn't move him for less unless it were a favorable package deal. Certainly Baltimore had offensive issues but Collins was actually a bright spot. I don't think they draft a guy as they have so many other needs.

Personally, I think this is the worst time to trade FOR non elite RB's. You can give that pick up for Collins and then see Baltimore draft Guice in two months. Trading them away if you can get that is worth it. Problem is, most people are more into the picks right now, so you'll be hard pressed to get any first rounder for a guy like him.

No one is paying late 1st early 2nd for him which is what he showed last year. He is off best off being included in a package as a cherry on top. I just got OJ Howard in a 16 team TE premium with Collins as part of a large package.

Calvin Ridley perhaps. :)
