Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
Outside of Barkley, guice and Sutton I don't think any player in this draft would land in the top 9 of last year. Barkley, Fournette, Mixon, McCaffrey, guice, Davis, Sutton, M Williams, Kareem Hunt. (This would be off my pre draft rankings of last year so Kamara wasn't there for me unfortunately, I drafted hunt at 1.06) also no particular order in those players.
Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
I'm strictly talking about the classes from a prospect perspective, ignoring the 2017 season.
Barkley >= Fournette
Guice = Cook
Michel <= Mixon
Jones > Kamara
Chubb > Hunt
Johnson > Foreman
Penny, Freeman, Kelly, Ballage, etc are better prospects than all day 3 guys in 2017 except maybe Perine, but I'd argue Penny is just as good of a prospect as Perine was this time a year ago.
McCaffrey is a wild card as I think he was drafted as an offensive weapon moreso than a traditional running back and no one really compares to a player like him. Kamara and Hunt are obvious studs, but they were 3rd round picks in the draft, and Hunt was only getting hype based on his landing spot.
WR is deeper when you get outside of the top 50 or so then it was last year, but 2017 was far superior at the top. TE is pretty good, but obviously 2017 is better. QB is much better this year, with 5 1st round locks.
Overall, the 2017 class was better at the top of the draft with the balance the WR's brought. But I think the 2018 class is deeper as a whole, meaning the later 3rd round and 4th round picks are better then a year ago, at least in my opinion as of right now. It's still pretty early and things can definitely change.

Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
I would actually give the edge to all of the top '17 guys in their respective orders (except Barkley v Fournette), and I wasn't even high on Kamara.

Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
Really there were only 2 studs pre combine/draft last year. It was all about Fournette and Cook. Post combine and draft is when "the top 6" emerged. Cook ended up not being in the top 2 and going around 4-6 in many drafts.

I see a ton of hindsight in people's rankings right now. Im taking opinions with maybe less than a grain of salt.broncohead wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2018 11:47 pm Really there were only 2 studs pre combine/draft last year. It was all about Fournette and Cook. Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
Get your RBs. Not unrealistic to think the top 6 picks could all be RBs, given the experience of last year and that a stud RB1 in fantasy costs a lot these days.

Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
But this was never a RB Rich year... it only became that way because of all the hype of last year. Reminds me more of comparing 2014 to 2015 WR class. All hype no bite. People are zigging when they should be zagging to the QB. We always want the shiny new toy and want to rate it as the best thing ever since sliced bread. We forget that Barkley is extremely overhyped and that is making anything behind him even more hyped than they should be. Start studying those QBs because they are the real studs in this class.

It's interesting because Corey Davis was always in that top 3 for me for last year. It was Fournette, Cook, Davis anything after was muddled and the only other player I cared for was Mixon.

Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
This is a rb rich year. U can’t judge a year before it was even started. By the end of 2017, this year was rb rich despite any hype from previous years. No reason to zig when they zag, cause you’d be doing it at the wrong time. Not the time to just think differently for no real reason

Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
This is not true. The depth and talent of the '17 RB class had been discussed at length for a long, long time. I think rookie fever is much more at play than revisionist history when discussing these two classes.broncohead wrote: ↑Thu Feb 15, 2018 11:47 pm Really there were only 2 studs pre combine/draft last year. Re: 2018 Draft Class VS 2017
I think it was fournette then cook in their 1 then Davis and Williams their 2. Cook fell out of top 4 in all the drafts I saw and Williams bounced around pick 5 or later. My point is we are exactly where we were last year for the most part with unclear too end of the draft.CK_ wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 3:33 amBot101 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 16, 2018 12:07 amI see a ton of hindsight in people's rankings right now.
