This is the place for team advice - should I make this trade, should I draft that player, etc.

Tyreek and Barkley- difference in value

Postby UsualSuspects » Tue Feb 13, 2018 10:09 am

Thinking of starting up trade talks with the owner of Tyreek Hill. What (in picks) would you need added to Tyreek to trade away the 1.01?

I don't think their value should be that off. I realize the 1.01 is going to cost more right now, but if I owned it, I'd move it for Hill and the 1.12 pretty easily if I could.

x2 but try to get Hill + 1.12 + 2019 2nd as the initial offer?

I agree, try to get as much as possible...especially with your initial offer. I'm just saying, I'd be more than happy to settle at that price.

I’d much rather have the 1.01 here. I’m not a believer in Hill and I don’t see him as the next AB or T.Y. I see him as more of a Tavon Austin style player. Little guys like him who rely mostly on speed don’t usually last long. I’d rather take the possible 4 year window on Barkley than the 4 year window on Hill.

Aside from capitalizing on the hype value as we approach the draft, I would rather have Tyreek than 1.01. If you can get other pieces added on top of Tyreek, even better.

I was quite wary of him after his flash rookie year. After his sophomore season, calling him a flash in the pan seems like a stretch. Also, when a terrible team like the Giants nab Barkley it's going to be crazy around here.

I'd take the 1.01 as well but when has Austin come remotely close to anything Hill has produced?
Hill just produced 75 rec 1183 rec yards and 7 TDs... 195 ppr pts

Austin has 194 rec 1689 rec yards and 12 TDs... 378 ppr points.... In his career (5 seasons)

They may be the same style of player but tyreek is faster and a better route runner than Austin will ever be

If you are trading away the 1.01 I think you can ask for a lot, so I would start with trying Hill, 1.12 and 2019 1st. If he thinks 2 first are too much with Hill, try Hill, both early 2nds or 1 early 2nd (not far off 1.12) and next years 1st (next years pick could be lower than 1.12 moving you up several spots than the 1.12 you would be getting this year, to him it will seem like he is not giving as much allowing him to "keep" his 1.12)
