Super Bowl Sunday

Postby slaughterrt » Sun Feb 04, 2018 10:13 am

Didn’t see a thread yet and with the big game mere hours away...thought I would start one.

I do have to say though, that I am not super hyped about watching the game as I have been in the past. I hope to see the underdog Eagles win, even though they crushed the Vikings hopes two weeks ago. I fully expect the Pats to dominate though.

My thoughts are that if the Pats can get a 14+ point lead, then it’s probably game over. I don’t know that the Eagles are built for playing from behind. If Eagles can establish the run and keep the game close, I think they could maybe pull out an upset. I don’t think there’s a big enough lead that the Eagles can get that I would feel saying that the game is in hand (at least until the game is actually over).

Thoughts?

I think Brady goes 3 and out multiple times in the first half, Eagles can score and lead until mid 3rd quarter, and Patriots win by 10 points

Eagles go out in front 7-0 and don't reach the end zone the rest of the game. Final score Patriots 45-13.
If you can't leave at least a 20% tip, you can't afford to eat out.

I just want to say congratulations to the NE Patriots and all their fans on winning Super Bowl 52 and condolences to the Eagles fans - but come on deep down in your hearts you knew your team had no chance against the Patriots.

I want to see a dominant Patriots performance to keep my blood pressure down, as much as I enjoyed last year's SB. However, I'm in agreement with the others who say the Eagles will come out strong but fade in the 2nd. Nobody is better at half time adjustments than Belichick and nobody is better in the 4th than Brady.

A lot of people like the Eagles defense against the Pats but considering Brady and Co just dispatched the best defense in the league - who are even better built to pressure Brady and create turnovers, I don't see the Eagles stopping Brady and McDaniels.

my mind says that philly has very little chance so pats 34-10, my only thought and reason for optimism is
this years pats are not as much better than the eagles as the 2001 rams were better than 2001 patriots so in a full circle of the siege the pats have had on the NFL for 17 years they could get shocked the same way they shocked the football world back when their little treachery upon the league began. my heart hopes 24 -16 eagles.

Since the media is always looking for a new narrative, I saw one this morning saying Brady and Bill retire with a win. I think Bill will, but Brady does not. Pats win a close one, but still cover. Vegas almost always wins.

I hope they both retire right before the game. Or get in a fist fight during the national anthem and get thrown out.

Pats win, 30-13

It's a closer game than the final score suggests, however. Halftime it's Pats 13, eagles 10.

There was a debate a few days ago on whether Gronk's value can be helped by a dominant SB performance. While I agree that even a great game won't do much to boost his stock, I AM curious to see what Ajayi does. I think this game could be huge for his offseason value if he gets used as a workhorse and finally gets some red-zone work.

Another game where he gets banished from the red area, and he gets a line of 16-54-0, I think his stock really starts to fall.

But if he gets 20+ touches, 100+ total yards, and a TD or 2... I think he's back to his 2016-17 value.
