2018 RB rookie discussion

Not sure if there is a thread couldn't find one . I think with so many solid RB options at this time there needs to be more clarity at the position . Care to rank your RBS and give a quick breakdown? I'll do a few and then update once I have a top 10.

Side note I only play nonppr so rankings likely skewed that way. I tend to shy away from the smaller pass catching guys.

1. Barkley - Unquestionably the 1.01 this year. Big strong, agile, excellent acceleration and lateral agility. Not quite as shifty as Shady but seems to be a physically stronger version of him. Will be debated with Elliot and Gurley about who's best RB asset come this time next year I firmly believe

2. Chubb - I think he's starting to round into pre injury form. Not quite as explosive or lateral agility as before but close. Good vision , powers over people and makes smart cuts .

3. Michel - He's going to be a ppr darling, reminding many of Kamara and Coleman in play and body type. Excellent hands and video game acceleration . Can he be a 3 down back?

4. Guice - I'm personally not a big fan at this point but media and analysts all have him at 2. I must be missing something . I love his power but I think he lacks vision and lateral quickness. More research needed

5. D Harris - Quick , decisive . Good hands. Took over backfield from B Scarborough . 3 down potential

6. Kerryon Johnson - Reminds me of L Bell, very patient runner with nimble feet. Not as athletically gifted as Bell but I find him intriguing

7. Adams, Jones, Love, Freeman - More research needed but next set of guys at this point

Penny will be on the top ten list especially if he runs a 4.49 at combine as I have seen his coach suggest he will.
many an expert like wadley although I personally think he looks like ronnie hillman
looks like another deep talented rb class although I have barely started digging in as of now.

I'm at 1.6. Think a "stud" potential RB will still be available then to pair with Cook? I shored up my WRs this season I feel and while I have Ingram/Miller/Ajayi I feel like I need a more reliable and younger option there still

my ranks are going to depend a lot on landing spot with this class. seems like theres a lot of disparity in ranking the rb2-rb8 with guice the most popular choice at 2. i feel like chubb is locked in as a top 4 pick for me and i need to do some more research on harris, johnson, love, and penny

I think it is a serious possibility, sutton and perhaps ridley or washington could go really high depending on obvious factors like combine performance and draft spot/destination. long way away but I could see it happening .

Here's my very early RB rankings that will most certainly change:
Tier 1: Saquon Barkley
Tier 2: Nick Chubb/Derrius Guice
Tier 3: Damien Harris/Sony Michel/Rashaad Penny/Bryce Love/Ronald Jones (Love and Jones are on the smaller side for RBs and could start their careers out at RBBC)
Tier 4: Royce Freeman/Akrum Wadley (both played their senior years so they are a little older for RBs but not a big concern)

I've watched Guice clips over and over and I see a solid runner but I'm missing what makes him "not far behind barkley". I dont get it.

I think Chubb clearly looks better than Guice and Sony could be an absolute PPR weapon

I expect 6rb/3wr/1te in the top 10 this year. Especially after how the rookie rbs turned out last year

Overrated or underrated?

To me, the top 5 RB's for this draft are pretty locked for me and will only change around based on situation in my tier 2.

Tier 1: Saquon Barkley
Tier 2: Nick Chubb, Derrius Guice, Damien Harris, Sony Michel

Those 4 in Tier 2 are all excellent RB prospects. All of these guys are potential "bell cow" backs in the NFL. Harris might be the best buy out of all these guys because Barkley, Guice and Chubb have all gotten so much talk and will probably go in the top 4 picks. Michel exploded on national TV and will be compared to Kamara...therefore garnering a high pick grade. With that said, Chubb looked strong in the game as well, but only had 2 TD's compared to Michel's 4! Ha!

Harris looks like a potential beast to me. With the tendency for dynasty owners to go WR lately and how a RB who slides into a "perfect" situation can suddenly jump into the mid 1st round of drafts...well, it's entirely possible for Harris to fall to the 8-9 pick range and be a heck of a value.

Marlon Mack to the Colts caused him to be drafted at #4 overall.... giving me both Mixon and Cook at 5 and 6

Not many. This is shaping up to be a pre-AJG and Julio type draft.

At 1.07 I am aiming for (in this order)

Michel
Harris
Love
Jones II
Freeman
Penny

I didn't include Barkley or Guice because unless something nuts happens I doubt they fall to 7
