Life of Pablo wrote: Thu Dec 21, 2017 12:38 pm I know a lot of people love Chris Godwin as a talent/prospect... but that situation is tough. It reminds me of all the people who loved Leonte Carroo but are forced to wait 2+ years on him for him to even potentially see meaningful playing time.

Unfortunately in my league... there is not much of a luxury in storing players on your bench for so long. With only 180 players rostered, the waiver wire is always abundant with decent lottery tickets and it makes holding onto prospects a pain. As such, the only players that are rostered are ones that are expected to produce this season or next season.

So taking the smaller benches into context, do people expect Chris Godwin to make any splashes in the Bucs offense next year. Or are we still playing the waiting game there?

I basically have room for one more stash this year... I currently have Mike Davis in that slot (team is in sig), but players I'm considering are essentially narrowed down to Chris Godwin, Jeremy Hill, Wayne Gallman, Kenneth Dixon, Jonnu Smith, Adam Shaheen, and Rico Gathers (sorry to make this look like a "specific advice" question, but it helps add context to how people value Godwin in the short-term).

Unless he somehow blows up over the offseason, I could also potentially just snag him in the 2nd/3rd round of our Rookie/FA draft next year. He'll likely be passed on by players "worse" than him, for the sole fact that he's no longer a shiny new toy.
How did you manage to end up with 8 of the top 25 dynasty assets?
Just curious

How do we think the Brate signing will affect Godwin’s production?

Looking at FPts/game, Brate was solid for the first half of the season, but after that he and Godwin alternated productive weeks. Is this a sign that they can’t both be productive simultaneously? I’m thinking not considering Godwin looked good when given the opertunity.
The standard is the standard.

As long as Jameis is throwing to anyone in Tampa...I would try to trade all of my Tampa stock. Dude is better at throwing the ball to opposing CB's.
QB: Russell Wilson, Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, Ryan Tannehill
RB: Jordan Howard, Mark Ingram, Jay Ajayi, D'Onta Foreman
WR: Mike Evans, Brandin Cooks, Jarvis Landry, Robert Woods
TE: Travis Kelce, OJ Howard

Jameis set a career high in YPG last year, even playing through a shoulder injury and was on pace to set a career high in yardage.

Sure, he is not the most efficient but Winston is a great quarterback for fantasy WR options.

That said - aside from Mike Evans, there are a lot of mouths to feed; DJax, Godwin, Brate, Howard..
I would not expect immediate fantasy production from any but Evans.

Great advice.

Jameis was such a bum in 2016 that Evans was only the #2 fantasy WR and Brate the #6 TE.

Jameis is just terrible for fantasy.

Godwin is better than Humphries and now that they just signed Humphries, it's hard to say whether Godwin will leap frog the slot position and go right into playing opposite Evans or whether they'll continue to rotate him with Humphries. I'll go with playing the opposite of Evans while phasing out DJax. WR3 by 18 seasons end.

I'll hold him until 2021 if I have to. He will be worth the wait. 2018? It is not looking promising.

I bought Godwin for Dion Lewis today.

Own both Henry and Djax.

I like it

I have goodwin in my practice squad and will leave him there. As a psu fan the kid is really great and he already show us last year flashes on his talent. The kid will be a beast and is very young. Probably do not have high hopes for 2018 but in 2019 watchout

I drafted him with the expectation of him not being relevant until at least 2019 - that has not changed for me.
