If you listen to some of the dynasty podcasts, many would already prefer Barkley over Zeke based on their prospects coming into the league, and betting on the talent over situation.
what do you think of him? i think he is the next Bell..

Barkley without question. All year opposing defenses have adapted their game plans to shut him out and while running ran at stacked boxes he still managed to have over 1000 yards on the ground and also had almost 600 through the air this year. He's reportedly 230lbs and said to run a 4.3-4.4 40 and benches 220lbs for 30 reps, if his on field athleticism transfers into the combine the hype will go sky high.

Right now, I'll take Zeke. Zeke is still a very very good RB. It's not the Hunt situation (ok talent in good situation). But my opinion could flip in an instant if Barkley makes defenses look silly.

This thread is precisely why I will be selling the bleep out of my 1.01 picks this year. Can't wait till that prospect gets so damn plump that people are willing to part with great WRs for him.

I don't think he's as shifty as Shady but he's damn close and looks more powerful

He is WAY slower and not even close to as shifty as Shady. He's just as if not more powerful, for sure. Doesn't have anything close to Shady's hands either.

EDIT: I'm referring to Hunt. Not sure if you were referencing Hunt or Saquon?

Teams have been able to stop him in college in some games. I mean I may not trade him for hunt but If I got extra on top of do it. He may be a stud or he may become Darren McFadden. Or trent Richardson. Bird on the hand man. If I could make a steal I'd def be all over that

I voted for Barkley but my reasoning has less to do with Barkley and more to do with Andy Reid. Andy Reid has a historical habit of neglecting his RBs. Hunt was hot for the first three games and then Andy Reid gave him the same treatment he’s given numerous RBs in the past. He throws too much when he shouldn’t and doesn’t give his RBs enough touches. It’s the same story with Andy Reid offenses as it always is. Hunt has shown some very good things but I don’t trust Andy Reid. If Barkley ends up in a decent situation, I take him on volume alone

I believe in evaluations more than situations in dynasty (different view in redraft). Saquon is a generational talent and Hunt is not. I wouldn't have and don't care what Hunt did in September. That wasn't sustainable, nor (to me) was his October/November swoon. Barkley's the better talent, so it's a no brainer to me (feel the same way about Cook and Mixon, although in the Mixon case, the OL and incompetence in the organization concern me).

While I understand the love for Saquon, as a Kareem owner I don't think I would trade him for the 1.01. It's true Saquon might be better, based on pedigree, situation, etc. The old saying a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush applies here. Hunt is good, in a solid situation and has proven to have what it takes to be an RB1. I think people are too slow to shift their opinions of players and a lot of Hunts slow going in the middle of the year wasn't his fault. Don't disrespect his pedigree either, Trent Richardson was drafted in the first, bishop Sankey in the second. A list of RB's drafted in the third include Frank Gore, Jamaal Charles and Demarco Murray were all third round picks. Arian Foster was an undrafted free agent.

All of this is saying that people are a little too quick to give away a good thing and totally roll the dice again in my opinion. Really like Barkley and his talent is legit I'm sure, but that doesn't make this a slam dunk for me.

These comments seem a bit contradictory...

Evaluations have value but not iron-clad by any means. Players like Zeke and Fournette would also have been described as "generational talents" but the same can be said of DMC and TRich. And there are plenty of misses by the NFL that we all understand that there is no such thing as a sure thing. By the same token, there are also players who get undervalued.

Situation also matters more than some want to admit. Had Derrick Henry gone to the Cowboys instead of Zeke, "history" would remember both differently right now. Henry would have posted the huge rookie year last season and Zeke would be the #2 alongside Demarco Murray.

I like Hunt a great deal and believe his talent is being undervalued quite a bit. My concern there is most definitely situation. The Chiefs have no business being a "pass first" offense with Smith (or Mahomes). They need to be running the football to death and Hunt is being misused the last couple of months.

Where Barkley ultimately lands will matter.
