Non PPR league....

Should I trade....
Chris Thompson + Buck Allen + Alex Collins for JuJu Smith-Schuster ?

Im leaning towards doing it as I just picked up Thompson and Collins on the waiver wire and both are doing well and maybe its time to strike while the iron is hot?

If you don't need the production from those players to compete or are rebuilding, then I'd take Juju. Although, I think you might be able to get more right now for those players.

It's an overpay on paper but the consolidation is probably worth it if you believe in JuJu

This is the only reason I wouldn't do the trade is mentioned. I think you could set your sights a little higher, but maybe you really like Juju, in which case I have no problem trading any of the players you mentioned

Agree that if sold individually I bet you could get better value. I'd try shopping each for around a 2nd. If you're high on juju and don't need these guys to help you out then I think it's kind of a good deal.

I'd take JuJu; he's going to break the USC curse. That said, current valuation makes it an overpay. Maybe try for a pick or throw in back.

did you watch SNF? if you are trading Thompson+ away after that for JJSS i think you are crazy. if he was recently available on waivers your league probably isnt serious business anyway. I think JJSS is a great target to go after given the history of steelers WRs, his uptick in snap share, and martavis making some bonehead drops recently, but I think you can pay less. Perhaps this is a league size issue thing, in 16 team leagues, RBs are thin and have enhanced value. thompson looks like the best player on the Skins and in a PPR setting could be fantasy gold. his production does not come from a few freak plays; he is being featured and is going berserk with those opportunities (13 yds/touch). finally, Gruden says he's not going to give Thompson more touches. haha yeah right, coachspeak if youve ever heard it.

see, if i were you, i'd want to start this lineup:
zeke, fournette at RB
Allen, Landry (baldwin when he gets straightened out) at WR
Thompson at flex

Thompson probably won't see a big uptick in touches. You wanna keep him fresh and explosive. Think Lamar miller when he got his big workload. Wore him down in about two weeks.

i think you're seeing thompson at his best. this is his optimal usage, change-of-pace, gruden definitely doesn't want to kill him. in that sense, far better real player than fantasy player, although he's been sweet in fantasy so far. but gruden (and other coaches) don't care about our fantasy teams. they'll do what it takes to win and for washington, it's keeping thompson fresh. i think you're selling high on thompson, just don't see the fantasy production being sustainable.

Tell me again why cant Thompson be Sproles 2.0?

Because Crowder should return to form once his hip heals up and will take back all of those Thompson targets.

Because defences will start to zero in on him as he is clearly their best weapon at the moment.

Because he isn't built the same as Sproles and is a bit more prone to overuse and injury.

That being said - he was productive enough last year in the "sproles" role and has shown to improve in that role this year so far.

Regardless, he's a sell high right now and it could be a good opportunity to go get something you really want.

He clearly is their best weapon at the moment, and whats to say he doesnt continue to be that. Thompson passes the eye test, bigly. Theres no massive difference between Thompson's (5'7 192 30.1 BMI 21 reps) and Sproles' (5'6 185 29.9 BMI 23 reps) builds. Sproles 4.47 40. Thompson 4.47 40. I agree that if you wanted to sell him, this is the time as he cannot keep up current production.

I agree with this. Thompson isn't a bad player, but regression is a given for his 69 reception, 1,232 receiving yard pace on 101 targets. Scat backs are so volume dependent that chasing numbers is usually a recipe for failure.

I would not trade Thompson for JSS though. I feel like you could get something a little better given his hot start.
