IDP Thoughts so far! Week 1 almost done...

First off, holy BJ Goodson!!! He looked good out there. Granted, he was no Kuechly (he wasn't blowing up the play or disrupting the Cowboys' gameplan at all) but he did a great job tracking down Zeke and using his grown-man strength to stop the play from getting beyond him. Obviously we probably just saw his career-high in terms of tackle production in a game, but he certainly looks like a high-floor LB2 with weekly LB1 upside!

I'll be watching the other games on Gamepass throughout the week; I'm concerned about Antonio Morrison's lack of involvement in the box score... I would ask if anyone watched the Rams-Colts game, but obviously you wouldn't be able to read this if you'd already gouged your eyes out

Would have to agree that Goodson seemed to be in on every defensive stop on the field. It was an imoressive showing.

Week 1 seemed to be void of a lot...QBs really sucked this week leading to lack of offense and thus defensive plays in my opinion, a lot of three and outs. Demario Davis, Myles Jack, Darron Lee, Jarred Davis, Zach Brown, Vincent Ray(two more games) and Ramon Humber had some great weeks as well, will be curious to see if they can continue that level of play. Also seemed like a lot of big names failed to do much this week - Ogletree, Barron, Kirksey, Preston Brown, Collins, Telvin Smith all had single digit performances.

I totally agree. As far as Ogletree and Barron, don't worry too much - Indy simply didn't give LA any tackle opportunities.

Kwon Alexander bye week
Christian Kirksey dud
Calais Campbell same Stud different year
Telvin Smith didn't have opportunity since the DLine killed it
Jarrad Davis & Haason Reddick Benched due to rookie status
Cliff Avril got injured,
Aj Bouye decent
Jabrill peppers good rookie besides the fumble
Those are what I had this week
TJ Watt if you didn't buy stocks in him after JJ Watt said he was more athletic then him then shame on you ( he got drafted in our start up one pick before me)

Packers LBs were very light on stats--think this was more due to Mike Daniels absolutely cleaning up, the relatively small number of plays run by Seattle, or...? I'm considering dumping some combination of Blake Martinez, Wendell Smallwood, and Taco for Ramon Humber and Nick Vigil in a league that's somewhat light on waiver wire talent at LB since we can start up to 5.

Also, BJ Goodson

As far as the Packers LBs go, it's the same story as the Rams LBs. Simply no plays that went anywhere from the opposing offense (Seattle and Indy, respectively), so no tackle opportunities. Now, unlike the Rams LBs, we have a historical precedent that says the Packers LBs won't be great for IDP, but in this specific game, it wasn't on them.

Need to check what happened with the Titans LBs. Avery 43 snaps, Woodyard 50 and Jayon Brown 36. Total defensive snaps were 66. Haven't heard anything about an injury to Avery.

Outside of that I think usage were mostly as expected, barring injuries and gameflow, but I was a bit disappointed that Ramik and Correa did not see more snaps, and I was surprised that NEP basically didn't use David Harris at all.

GBP played big nickel base and were basically just playing Martinez and Burnett inside.

Glad I scooped up Darron Lee for free.
Just a reminder to myself why I will not invest heavily in LB.
He should be in a position to continue to post big numbers.

I was up against Goodson who put up 32 points and I had in D Hunter and Clowney as my 2 DL who combined for 3 points. Sad!

My favorite zero-LBs propelled me to some decent wins:

Nick Vigil, AJ Klein, Ramon Humber allowed me to spend big on Fletcher Cox this past offseason. As LB prices go up, we have to mine deeper.

Also, Barron stunk in my lineup for the first time in a long time (only league I lost my matchup). Reuben Foster was cruising in two of my lineups, but you know...

Will Compton played ZERO snaps. He is a cut in just about any league (unless it's super deep and you want to handcuff Foster or Z. Brown).

The Raiders gave Corey James most of the snaps, but he wasn't super productive. I won't start him anytime soon. Marquel Lee only played like a third of the snaps.

Indy gave Bostic 100% of the snaps, and Morrison about 90%. Currently no full time DBs tho, so proceed with caution there (although they will be on the field so much, that even a 70-80% player will probably see at least 45 snaps per game)... Farley racked up tons of tackles tho!
