Contender/rebuilder trade. Baldwin+ vs. M.Will/1st+

Currently in talks with a team looking to rebuild for team 1 in sig. I'm basically bidding against another owner for the same set of guys -- the team I'm in talks with is considering this offer:

I send: Mike Williams, my 2018 1st, McKinnon and Austin
I receive: Baldwin, Garcon, Gore and Sproles

Realizing that Gore and Sproles may not even play next year, is this worth it to bolster my team for a run at the title this year? If he asks for more, should I be willing to throw in a 2nd rounder or something similar to get this trade done? Appreciate the help.

I think the trade is fair. It will definitely help you this year. I wouldn't add anything else.

There is no way I would make that trade. You only have the ability to start four WR's and already have Dez, Cooper, Allen Robinson and Watkins. I don't know why so many people are down on Williams but I believe he will develop into a top ten WR. You'd be mortgaging your future for WR/RB depth. While this trade would make you more secure during bye weeks (and in case of injuries) I don't see it making you much stronger on a weekly basis.

Appreciate that, and that's where my concern is. I just don't know if I can trust Watkins or ARob this year, and I think Baldwin makes my starting lineup a lot stronger (plus the connection with Wilson wouldn't be terrible). Part of me wants to trade Watkins after he has a big game, and that probably wouldn't be possible without this trade.

If that's a late 1st, it's worth adding MW to upgrade to Baldwin.

If you have an injury to one of your current starting receivers than this trade will make all the difference in the world for this season. If your players stay healthy then all you'll be doing during the playoffs (and in regular season non bye weeks) is bumping up your weekly total by a point or two on average. Because there will definitely be weeks that the receiver you bench out scores Baldwin.

I'm not a huge fan of trying to guess which healthy players will get hurt, it could just as easily be Baldwin and then you've lost so much potential upside for nothing.

What this trade will do no matter what happens this season is deprive you of your best rookie asset (and I think that asset will pay huge dividends) and an unknown first round selection for next season. And you'll be losing that future impact for Doug Baldwin, who while reliable is not a true difference maker. I don't believe Gore or sproles will have any value in the near future and Garçon doesn't have signifcant value even now.

I would not make this move.
