Re: 2017 Season Discussion
Geez I thought I was done for sure!
So to clarify, I need SMTM and MS to win this week and I need to stay ahead of DMB and HCR in points scored to make it?

Re: 2017 Season Discussion
I guess HCR can win the division if he beats BB and some ugly 3-way tie is handled in the same way as regular ties. Division record, I mean ugh. I guess it's OK splitting direct ties, but 3-way? Come on...
And of course BB's best 2 players, a QB and WR, face the Vikings. Of course.

Re: 2017 Season Discussion
You guys should be rooting for me to make the playoffs. My team was decimated when I went firesale mode and would likely be an easy out.
I don’t like my chances against BB anyways so it’s likely a moot point. Fun to think about though.

Yeah I didn't realize SMTM plays WBS next week....Multiple Scorgasms wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 1:54 am They'd all be 7-6. How do we deal with 3-way ties?
Re: 2017 Season Discussion
NFC division winners have clinched, but me and Hotwings are playing for the wild card... we're separated by 7.8 points right now.sprtsfrk208 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 11:46 am Yes correct. I hadn’t even looked at this weeks matchups. This is going to be quite a Sunday!
DMB vs MS for the division &/or WC
WBS vs SMTM for the same
That is insane how the schedule set up like this! 3 out of the 4 teams are the highest scoring teams in the league. TDU has to hope for MS to win for a chance at WC.
And I just got FLASH back, b!itches!

You are no easy out, I’m not buying that!SuperHawks wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 4:31 pm You guys should be rooting for me to make the playoffs. My team was decimated when I went firesale mode and would likely be an easy out.

Re: 2017 Season Discussion
I’m curious how a three way tie would be handled? I see head2head, then division record, then points scored.Multiple Scorgasms wrote: ↑Tue Nov 28, 2017 1:54 am They'd all be 7-6. How do we deal with 3-way ties?
I needed DMB to lose. He scores 65 points ... and WINS. How is that a thing?
I needed SMTM to win. He scores 117 points ... and loses. I mean it's f8kking unreal.
#1 seed w/ 2nd most points, and if I lose next week there's a good chance I'm out. Jesus.
For example, I’m 1-1 vs HCR and so far 1-0 vs WBS (depending on this weeks outcome). Would 2-0 vs WBS give me the division win? HCR is 2-0 vs WBS.
HCR has the best overall division record among the 3 teams in the second tiebreaker.
In the third tiebreaker, SMTM has the most points scored among the 3 teams.

Re: 2017 Season Discussion
I’m assuming we would determine by the second tiebreaker, as of division record, since there’s 3 teams. Therefore, HCR would win the division and SMTM would claim WC based on most points scored.
Re: 2017 Season Discussion
You can't really apply head-to-head in a 3-way tie...it would have to go to the second tie breaker.
Should be clarified in the rules though.

Re: 2017 Season Discussion
Why not? The NFL does for division and WC situations. In a 3-way division tie, each team would have played the other two teams twice, for four relevant games each, or six total (A vs B, A vs B, A vs C, A vs C, B vs C, and B vs C). If team A goes...
4-0: Team A wins the division
3-1: Team A wins the division UNLESS the team that beat them also swept the third team, making both 3-1. In which case you'd go to overall division record (i.e., record vs the 4th team in the division).
2-2: It's either a 3-way tie at 2-2 against one another, or the situation is already explained by one of the previous scenarios (this would apply to 1-3 or 0-4 as well).
Re: 2017 Season Discussion
Is that really how the NFL does it? Can't imagine there are many 3 way ties for a division...I can't recall one, but maybe I just haven't been paying that much attention.Xulu Bak wrote: ↑Wed Nov 29, 2017 9:23 am Why not? This makes my head hurt. We can use this if necessary...let's see how it all shakes out. If WBS wins this week, it's all moot.
Whatever happens, would be good to put this into the rules for clarification.

The Falcons planned to win the Super Bowl too...

Flag thrown by the referee "Unsportsmanlike Conduct against TrueDawg" for the Falcons comment. 5 point deduction.
Referee also warns Coach TrueDawg future Falcons comments regarding the Falcons SB loss will result in another flag for "Taunting" another 5 point deduction.
