2018 first + what for Brandin Cooks?

League chat is getting busy with pre-season under way. I'm in talks with the dumpster fire team of our league for Brandin Cooks. It'd be my 18 first, so take you best guess as to when that would be in a 10 team league for team 1 in my sig as placement as that could be big on where the value ends up. I'm guessing mid, and if my rookies hit it could be late although I don't think I'd finish better than 3rd or 4th unless a miracle. I'm thinking either a 19 first as well or a receiver like Landry in addition

Am I looking right for how to form this trade to possibly happen? And would this be a good trade for my team? It'd be nice to have a receiver core of Evans, Allen, and Cooks. Or am I undervaluing Landry here? I don't think he'd go for my next WR which is Thielen who I love, but most are low on. He might want both of those since Cooks is his only solid piece, would it be worth it for both? I fear for my depth and bye weeks if I lose both

Calling his team a rebuild would be a stretch, as that implies something to build around.

I wouldn't hesitate adding Thielen if it got it done. You have plenty of depth with Davis and Jmatt that you would be able to afford to lose him.

I'd give Theilan and Matthews on top of the pick pretty happily.

I'd start with Landry and the 18 1st. Add Thielen if it's not enough for him.

Guy in my league keeps asking for 2 1sts for Cooks (18 and 19) but has been offered that by multiple teams and hasn't pulled the trigger. I agree with above that any combo of 1st + Theilen, Landry or Matthews is well worth it. I would start with any one of those guys and be willing to do any combination of 2 of them plus the 1st depending on how you value them.

I'm getting some cold feet about Landry and a first for Cooks. I had thought Landry was older and see Cooks as a young gun, but didn't realize they've had the same 3 seasons in the NFL. Looking at their stats in ppr, its virtually identical. 1,100ish yards each last two years, and Landry's extra receptions balance out with Cooks' extra TDs

I'm not sure I think a first is worth the upgrade from Landry to Cooks, if there even is an upgrade. Can someone enlighten me differently?

I don't think he'll do the deal for a combo of Jordan Matthews, Adam Thielen, Kenny Britt, Taylor Gabriel. I'd throw him 3 or even all 4

Cooks' ceiling is sky high/top receiver. Landry is a nice player but they're not on the same level as far as skill set in my opinion.

So in summary, you want a top player at a 40% discount knowing full well you are going to be ripping off the guy trying to rebuild?
