Mike Evans Trade Value

In the poll you can select as many choices as you like.

A current discussion in the advice forum got me wondering just how much people would pay to add a young talent such as Mike Evans.

Are some of these options Real? Who wants to play in a dynastyeague where you are giving picks away 5 and 6 years Out? That just seems silly. Good luck finding owners to take over a team like that. I don't even consider any of these real offers, hell why not trade picks for 10 years why stop here?

You sound a little angry. Bad cup of coffee this morning?

No, these offers are not real. This is just a conversation about how far out people would be willing to sell their 1st round picks in order to acquire a player like Mike Evans.

My league has a limit of future picks(2 years) so I'd say three number ones is a pretty decent

1.03 with 2 early/mid 1st equivalents sounds fair, even then some may not sell

The question isn't what you expect people to sell Mike Evans for. The question is how many future 1st round picks would you be willing to give up to acquire him? :-)

I'm not so sure I could blindly trade Evans for any of those deals. Its difficult to project that many years out, so I would have to assume those future picks are at best mid round picks. So, the question I would have to ask myself is "How many mid first round picks plus Joe Mixon (who is my #3 guy over Davis and LF) would it take to deal Mike Evans?" Honestly, it's almost like saying I would get Mixon and a bunch of Kamara/Hunt/Perine/John Ross types (if I were to compare it to this years draft class). So, I don't think I would move Evans for ANY of those deals (but, I'm sure I will be in the minority). I just like to look at future firsts as being mid to late when I projecting that far out.

Nope. You've mis-read the question.

Not really. In fact, I did answer, you just neglected to quote my entire response. The answer is I wouldnt give up Mike Evans for ANY of your options. But, you dont have that as an option on the poll. What you quoted was my reasoning to get to that answer.

I think your poll would go better if you renamed the choices to 1.03, 1.03 + 1st, 3 1sts, etc.

I guess I did actually, haha. :wall: My bad.

With the exception of a few people misreading the question, it seems the poll is going fine. It is also somewhat in agreement with expectations I had from the thread in the advice part of the forum.

Your suggestion would definitely simplify things and reduce the confusion some people have. But it would also miss the nuance that got me interested in this to begin with.

I think a lot of people misread the question. The 1.03 should be the highest by default, with the 1.03+18 first next etc.

I would give up my first round pick 10 years into the future for Evans today... I can get my picks back anytime, for relatively cheap, during the season.

Yes, the results should look that way. And the results can be partially (and inaccurately) repaired by making them at least equal to the largest.

But what I was chiefly interested in was how many people would simply continue to add future 1st picks until the trade got done. HereForTheComments said it the best; for all intents and purposes he said he would give all of his future 1st round picks for a player like Mike Evans.
