Best Dynasty Decision You've Ever Made?

Well, we already have a thread about our "biggest regrets", so I thought I'd start one on the opposite side of the spectrum. What's the best decision you've ever made in dynasty - be it a draft choice, trade, acquisition, sit/start, etc. I'll start it off:

At the start of the 2016 season, I made a competitive wager to an opponent I truly thought wouldn't perform well. I offered him Michael Floyd and my 2016 1st for his 2016 1st. My plan worked and he came in last, while I came in fourth place. I took Zeke, and will fuller was taken with my pick. Not a bad return!

I loaded up on picks for the 2014 rookie class. Ended up with Evans, Watkins, Matthews, Hyde, A-Rob, Moncrief, Landry (and, uh, Latimer.) I moved some of these guys since but they are either part of the core or contributed to the core of my current team.

And since I missed the biggest regrets thread... I moved Hyde, Matthews, plus a 1st that turned into Tevin Coleman for the Philly version of Demarco Murray, which isn't that terrible, expect for the fact that I flipped him for Ryan Mathews when he was traded to TEN. I wasn't a Mathews fan but I really wasn't a believer in Murray. Whoops.

Holy cow you killed it on the 2014 draft. Great job! Bet you were feeling pretty smart after the 2014 season!

Team in sig, took David Johnson at the 9.03 in our startup draft summer of 2015

Dumbest was probably taking Dorsett at the 7.03 in the same draft

In a keep 7 league I took David Johnson in the second round (his rookie year) because I wanted Andre Ellington's backup. You know, just in case anything happened to Ellington... That is probably my most lucky move.

In dynasty nothing too major..Last year in a startup I drafted Bortles in the 8th round and traded him plus the 9.12 (which ended up being Sammie Coates) for McCoy who was picked at 5.11. It's only been a year, and McCoy doesn't have more than 1-2 more elite seasons left, but I can't complain. I bought D. Adams last year near midseason for my future 2017 2nd which ended up the 2.11.

My first every dynasty pick back in JAN '13 was TRich, who I took at 1.06-1.07 in a startup. Obviously that's not the best decision I made, actually it was a top candidate for the worst decisions thread. I had no idea what I was doing at the time (in general, not saying this specific pick was the reason that I didn't know what I was doing). Anyways, about half way through the '13 season when TRich still hadn't been totally declared a bust yet, I was able to package him to acquire the injured Julio Jones who was done for the rest of '13. I believe I gave what was considered a pretty heft package for Julio back then, especially considering Julio had yet to breakout into what we know him to be today, and he was sitting on the shelf for the rest of the season.

It took a couple seasons to put a team together around him (Team 1 in sig), but I'm coming off back to back titles in '15-'16 thanks in large part to Julio. Turning a huge bust that was my first ever 1st round startup pick into Julio was the single move that turned me into a trade junkie for quite a while. I've calmed down the past couple years with trades, probably because I'm in so many leagues now, but the desire to make trades was fueled by this deal.

Edit: After talking about this, I was curious and wanted to see what I actually gave for Julio back then. I remember asking for advice on this trade at the time as I was a dynasty rookie and scared to death to make a huge mistake, and I remember there being quite a few people saying that I shouldn't make this trade. Obviously the names in this trade are hilarious almost 4 years later, but when the trade was made, every player that I gave up were solid/intriguing dynasty assets.

Nov 6th, 2013

Gave: TRich/Patterson/Bernard Pierce/Stephen Hill/Chris Gives/'15 1st/'15 2nd
Got: Julio/Vereen/Flacco

My best decision? Picking up Doug Baldwin off waivers late in 2015. Can't remember who I dropped but it's inconsequential now.

After drafting Trich season 1 of our league I flipped him for a first and second in season 2. Took that first and second and bought Nuk so in the end it was Trich for Nuk straight up. I also traded Carr, John Brown, Philip Dorsett, Jordan Reed and a future first for Zeke and Rivers about a year ago.

Initial start up. First 13 rounds in May. It did not include rookies. So round 14 I had pick 3. Wanted Christine Michael so I swapped the next two rounds to drop down to 7. Pick 6 went Michael. So I took Bell.

Traded what ended up being the 2016 1.04, 2017 1.11 and R. Cobb for AJG during the season in mid 2015. Cobb fell off and Treadwell was taken with the 2016 1.04. Pretty pleased with that one.

Was negotiating a trade that same season and had been interested in Jamaal Charles but then changed my target to Lesean McCoy. Ended up getting the deal done. A couple weeks later Charles went down for the season. Dodged a bullet there.
