Marquel Lee played every down yesterday while Cory James would come off against 4WR and some 3WR sets. I think it was most 3WR sets but I would have to watch again to be sure. Interestingly enough they would bring on Sean Smith and use him as a dime linebacker on most plays they took out James. I would think that this role is intended for Obi when he is healthy and ready to go with the starters.

I grabbed Lee and where I could (most leagues) and James where he was available and I had room. May need to take a look at WW and see what 3 down LBs are available.

Lee taking over is the most obvious unobvious LB story of the offseason for me. Can't believe I got him as UDFA in a 7 round draft with balanced scoring. He should have mid 6th to late 7th. Even late 5th/early 6th.

I didn't get a chance to watch any, but looking at the box score it seems like Ed Jackson was the main guy with the starters?

Both Morrison and Bostic out with minor injuries, so nothing really to be read into Jackson/Walker starting (yet)

Simon is a playmaker and a run stuffer. Yes, he's on the outside, but he can be a ninkovich type.

With training camp starters out it was Jackson and Walker who got most of the playing time with the first team, even in nickel. Spence got one snap in nickel early, but he came on more a bit later - first exclusively in nickel alternating with both Jackson and Walker (but Jackson seemed to get more nickel playing time over Walker early) - and then later Spence and Walker played together in the second rotation in both base and nickel.

So if I had to rank the Colts LBs at this stage in terms of where they currently stand I would go Morrison - Bostic - Jackson - Walker - Spence, but from an upside perspective I would prefer Walker over Jackson, and long term he's probably also more exciting than Bostic who has had many chances to show us who he is and he has disappointed every time. Spence looks to be quite far behind and at this stage I think the best case scenario is that he gets a role in nickel, and even there he currently has 3-4 guys ahead of him based on current usage.

Davis has grabbed the reigns and is not looking back while Whitehead has moved to WILL base and is in line for nickel snaps. However, in a defense hungry for youth and speed Reeves-Maybin should come gunning for those nickel snaps and more as he figures things out, which might take a little while as he had offseason shoulder surgery and is starting from scratch in TC.
Yesterday pretty much confirmed this. Whitehead and Davis are the clear nickel players, with Williams at SAM in base. Interestingly enough they played a lot of base. I was expecting them to play more nickel and big nickel with Killebrew. They even lined up in base against some 3WR sets and got caught one time with the Colts sending their RB out wide and going with an empty backfield that led to a long completion down the middle to their TE.

Reeves-Maybin came on after both Worrilow and Longa, but man...his range pops off the screen. It would surprise me if he's not the WILL starter at the beginning of the 2018 season, if not earlier.

Apparently after his so-so performance on friday, yesterday Myles Jack was practicing at SLB with Poz back in the middle.

Even though, Jack & Telvin were playing in subpackages.

Perryman carted off last night in the Seattle/Chargers game. He said the word "pop" to his trainer and later returned to the sideline on crutches. I'd say it's better than 50% he's gonna miss the season opener. My first assumption was that Josh Perry (MLB Ohio State) was next in line. I always thought he'd make a better NFL player than Perryman, but some of the experts also mentioned K Toomer as next man up, so idk.

J Perry is free in most 12-teamers, but he's owned in all of my leagues. I'd probably have to pay a 4th to get him, but won't.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Chargers ILB Denzel Perryman (ankle) will miss 4-6 weeks.

I'd still buy Joshua Perry.
