So i'm hoping this means mack is going to go to a 4-3 because if i remember right pagano runs both but prefers 4-3

He ran a 3-4 in Baltimore and Indy.

Wanted to resurrect this thread. Curious as to how many leagues run this format, are the web sites accommodating edge rushers, how does this affect de and lb value? My league has a lot of idp starters, assuming leagues run one edge player?

I don't know how many of you saw but a few days ago Fleaflicker made the Edge designation their default IDP set up.

The defensive end position (DE) has been renamed defensive edge and will now include outside linebackers in a 3-4 defense (e.g., Khalil Mack, TJ Watt, Shaq Barrett). Defensive ends in a 3-4 defense are now considered interior lineman and will be moved to DT (e.g., Calais Campbell, Matt Ioannidis, Jonathan Allen).

You can still choose to just use the DL position which includes all DE and DT.

yep, edge rushers are now classified as d linemen. that should make them more valuable because they were worthless as lbers if your league isn't a big play league.

Their position is “EDR” now. My league uses DL spots (which has changed to be called “EI” for Edge/Interior), so they now fall there instead of the LB slots. I’m not sure how it looks in DE-specific leagues, but my guess is “DE” was automatically changed to “EDR”. DTs are IL (interior linemen) now.

This will surely make some in this forum apoplectic. But, I am thrilled. Unfortunately, MFL.com has no plans to adopt this change. Those few of you MFL’ers who are supportive of an Edge Rusher category please make a new feature request with MFL.com. If they get enough requests they may be persuaded. For those of you who are adamantly opposed, you don’t have to apply the change to your leagues.
