I have to wonder how valuable Ty can be even if he maintains the "lead" back in GB. The pack drastically reduced RB carries throughout 2016 and Ty managed only a single game with double digit carries as the main back without Lacy. No back received more than 17 carries in a game. Montgomery should maintain some PPR value but it is hard to envision more than a low end RB2 given the lack of volume.

Ya this is pretty realistic. The problem is not Montgomery's status as the "lead back" but that it won't amount to the high expectations many have for him. People want Eddie Lacy in his prime 2.0 from a fantasy scoring standpoint and think that, "Well Ty can catch passes and he's the lead back, ergo he's a 3-down back who will be an RB1."

He has value, just expect a committee when it comes to actual carries. He's a nice flex and bye week fill-in.

See for me, I own Montgomery in several leagues, I want to say 4, without looking but I only drafted him in one league, picked him off waivers in the others so my expectations aren't as high. I'm pretty happy to put him in there every once and awhile and get a solid game from him, I only play PPR, so he's got a nice floor in my leagues.

Maybe go dropped in rb touches because

1. It took them a while to realize what they had in Montgomery.
2. It took time to learn the rb playbook.
3. He was injured for a few games.

Pro football focus has Montgomery rated at the top or rb's for elusiveness, yards after contact.

This matches what I saw on the field. I don't know where this idea came from that he is just a third down back and can't run between tackles. Are there a lot of 223 lb scant backs out there.

Amazing how people can be so madly in love with unproven rookies but mostly disregard what a guy actually did on the field and what his analytics, from a source pro teams use, not a talking head, say about him.
